Camelia Liparoti – 2009 FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Cup - Quad Female Class
After the Dakar 2009 in Argentina, Camelia has decided to strive for another very ambitious goal: to win the FIM Quad Cross Country World Championship Title for women on her KTM 525 XC ATV.
After the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge in March, Camelia took part in the Rally of Tunisia, and then the Rally of Sardinia. With clockwork-like regularity behind the handlebar of her KTM 525 XC ATV, the Italian rider faced the Rally of the Pharaohs quite serenely and won it.

For the first time, a woman has claimed overall class victory in a World Championship event, leading ahead of her masculine rivals. Camelia Liparoti achieved her goal in the Rally of the Pharaohs, winning the Quad category and being crowned World Champion in her class, one round before the end of the Championship.   “I knew that with a good result I stood a good chance of claiming the world title. My dream came true… and even more, as I also won the Quad category. I’ll never forget the 2009 Rally of the Pharaohs. After an intense week, during which I took the lead on the third day, it was such a satisfaction to win the penultimate round of the World Cross Country Rally ahead of all other competitors. It was even better as it allowed me to achieve my goal and claim the world title for women one event before the end of the Championship!”

KTM wants to congratulate Camelia to her outstanding performance and her iron-will to go beyond her limits. We know that it has been a tough and gruelling season for you, but it was well worth it!
