Upfront, the 43 mm WP APEX open cartridge upside-down front fork has been specifically set up for adventure riding. Split function technology separates the compression and rebound damping between the two fork legs, with suspension travel set to 200 mm. On the rear, a WP APEX shock absorber keeps the ride smooth and balances typical KTM performance riding with all-day riding comfort.

A reworked clutch with better lubrication and new clutch discs makes for smoother shifting, while a 20% increase in crankshaft weight helps smoothen the ride even more. An additional knocking control system also means fewer worries when filling up with poorer grade fuel in far away places.

The overall geometry of the KTM 790 ADVENTURE was developed for light handling, and comfort on long-distance exploration missions - with unchallenged offroad capability. Strength was a big consideration in the design, so a tubular Chromoly steel frame is used with the engine acting as a stressed member to reduce weight and overall size. An all-new engine protector also adds a little more piece of mind when out of the trail. All design and engineering innovations are focused on being compact and light.
