AARON PLESSINGER WINS FIRST 450SX MAIN EVENT OF 2025 IN RAIN-SOAKED FOXBOROUGH

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Chase Sexton earned a pivotal victory at Round 13 of the 2025 AMA Supercross Championship in Philadelphia, gaining valuable points toward his 450SX title prospects with just four rounds remaining. Sexton recorded the fastest qualifying time via a scorching final lap onboard his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, before charging to a convincing Heat Race win to open his race day. A come-from-behind ride after a first-turn tangle in the Main Event saw Sexton progressively climb his way through the 450SX field, with a measured performance seeing him take the lead around the halfway point. From there, he would keep the gap to second place to just above four seconds, claiming what was a stellar result for his fourth win of the season. Chase Sexton: “All I can do, really, is win from here on out, so today was good! I haven’t won a normal Main Event since Anaheim 1, so that was a big focus for me today, and I am happy to have been able to do that. The track was tough, I came into the first turn with AP [Aaron Plessinger] in the Main Event and maybe cut him off a bit too much, and he went down, and I went way wide, so I had my work cut out for me. Overall though, the ride was really good for me. I felt the flow all day today, so that was nice.” 450SX Class teammate Aaron Plessinger posted the sixth quickest time in the afternoon’s qualifying sessions, dialing his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION in on the rutted, technical Lincoln Financial Field layout. A fast start in his Heat Race saw ‘The Cowboy’ circulating in second place, before a decisive move at the middway mark earned the number 7 the second Heat Race victory for the event. Getting another good jump in the Main Event, Plessinger went down in the first turn, clawing his way back to eighth by the time the checkered flag flew. Aaron Plessinger: “We had a really good day going here in Philadelphia. I felt so good! Great start in the Heat Race, managed to win that one after passing Coop [Webb], then went into the Main Event with first gate pick. Then someone ran it in really hot to turn one and took me down, which really sucked because I felt like I could’ve made a really good run in the points here for the end of the season. It happens, we’ll go into New Jersey and pick up where we left off in the Heat, and hopefully pick up another win before the season is over.” Defending 250SX East Class Champion Tom Vialle qualified sixth in the 250SX combined times, before a fall while running in a transfer position sent the Frenchman to the LCQ. From there, he would qualify for the Main Event and power his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION to sixth place on the night – now sitting within two points of the red plate. Tom Vialle: “I had a pretty good afternoon going, a good start in my Heat Race, but then had a pretty big crash on lap two, and pretty lucky to be alright after that crash. Went to the LCQ and qualified through there for the Main, and yeah, I didn’t start great with my gate pick. I think I was around 10th and ended up coming back to sixth. The good point of today is that we’re only two back for the championship with three to go, so we’re still right there.” 250SX West Class contender Julien Beaumer returned to action in style in Philadelphia, charging his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION to the fastest overall qualifying time of the afternoon. The Arizona native then went to piece a strong Heat Race together, capturing third place entering the 250 Showdown. A difficult start to the Main Event following an early restart had Beaumer right at the rear of the field, with the number 23 mounting a charge for the remainder of the race and climbing to 12th. Julien Beaumer: “I started good by qualifying first, Heat Race was decent, and then I had a good first start to our Main Event, but then it got red-flagged. I spun off the gate on the restart and I was dead-last and struggled to get going from there. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Chase Sexton and Aaron Plessinger raced to a pair of podium finishes at Round 11 of the 2025 AMA Supercross Championship in Seattle tonight, with Sexton claiming a hard-fought second position and Plessinger taking third place in a lively 450SX Main Event. Sexton powered his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION to the second-fastest qualifying time inside Lumen Field, posting a lap time of 47.121s on a circuit recognized for its technical, rutty conditions. That momentum would continue into his Heat Race, overcoming an average start to steadily slice his way through the field. A spirited ride for the number 4 saw him reach the rear wheel of his Red Bull KTM Factory Racing teammate Plessinger by the race's end, with the team scoring a 1-2 finish. In the Main Event, Sexton entered the lead of the race after clawing his way from a sixth-place start as the difficulty of the Lumen Field conditions intensified. Following a spectacular performance at the front of the field, Sexton ultimately finished in P2 following a final lap showdown for victory. Chase is positioned second in the standings, just 11 points outside of the lead following Round 11. Chase Sexton: "Tonight was gnarly and I think the pace this year was even higher than last year, which is crazy. We were pushing the limit – I was getting that long rhythm, which helped me, and then Coop [Cooper Webb] was faster in the tight stuff. There was a lot of cat and mouse out there, but it was a balance of pushing the pace, while also keeping your balance, because you had to hit your marks and try not to make mistakes, which was almost impossible on that track.” ‘The Cowboy’ claimed the holeshot in 450SX Heat 1, which continued his run of form throughout the recent rounds. Managing the pace at the front, the always-popular Plessinger charged to first position onboard his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, setting himself up well for the upcoming Main Event. Once the gates dropped on the Main Event, Plessinger posted a measured ride on a soft, rutty surface, steadily climbing his way up into a calculated third place finish by the conclusion of the night when the checkered flag flew. Aaron Plessinger: "I got the best jump out of the gates I got all day for the Main Event, then coming into the first corner, I guess I hit the brakes too quickly and stalled the bike. I was trying to bump start it for about 50 feet and smacked right into Malcolm [Stewart], which I feel so bad about as he might’ve been up on the box with us. It happens. I had to ride hard, and it was not an easy track... The ruts here are like no others, it’s like a sponge, which makes it super-wild. The 250SX West Class returned to action in Seattle following a three-week hiatus, with Julien Beaumer recommencing his hunt for this year's championship. Equipped with his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, Beaumer collected the second-fastest qualifying time before finishing P2 in his Heat Race. Upon delivering a solid ride throughout the Main Event, Beaumer battled inside the podium placings for the entirety of the race before eventually landing a fourth-place result in Seattle to remain well in title contention. Julien Beaumer: "Fourth place in Seattle, just a bad line choice in the Main cost me a lot. I should have been blitzing the whoops, then I got stuck behind the lapped riders, too, and didn’t make good choices there. I became frustrated, which ultimately cost me a lot of time. Overall, it was a step in the right direction with my riding, as my shoulder is improving, and we’re on an upward trajectory. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Julien Beaumer has taken control of the 250SX West Championship lead after racing to a breakout first-career AMA Supercross victory in San Diego’s second round of the 2025 season. Beaumer was in outstanding form from the outset at Snapdragon Stadium, leading the way in Qualifying 1 and ultimately qualifying second-fastest overall onboard his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION. He then raced forward to finish P3 in his Heat race. A strong start to the Main Event had the 18-year-old within striking distance of the early leader, before a decisive pass halfway through the race saw him largely unchallenged on his way to claiming his first-ever 250SX win. Julien Beaumer: "This is the first Main Event win of my career, but I’m trying not to get too excited about it right now, as we have a championship to go for. I didn’t have the greatest Heat, but made it happen when it counted! This is definitely confidence-boosting. At the start of this year I had a goal and I needed to believe in myself and I feel that I showed how much I believe in myself tonight. The track was pretty tight and I felt everything was built a little differently, so it was definitely tricky, but I'm really satisfied with the result tonight." In the 450SX division, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Chase Sexton promised to continue his winning ways early on in San Diego. The 25-year-old placed his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION at the top of qualifying this afternoon, and then finished his Heat strongly with a hard-fought P2 score. Sexton started the Main Event inside the top five, but an error on the opening lap saw him remount at the rear of the field. The former champion refused to give up, however, eventually charging his way to sixth position as the checkered flag flew. As a result, the Anaheim 1 winner sits P2 in the standings. Chase Sexton: "It was a chaotic night for me. I fell on the first lap and had to do a lot of work to catch back up. I felt like my riding was really good and the bike felt good, so honestly, we just need to work on our starts and get ready for Anaheim 2. I feel pretty confident with where I’m at, so I’m excited." It was a tough day for last year’s San Diego winner Aaron Plessinger. 'The Cowboy' qualified in 11th position, then made progress with a P6 result in his Heat. Following a mid-pack start in the Main Event, Plessinger was caught up with Sexton on the opening lap and then went down again later, which unfortunately spelled the end of his night. Aaron Plessinger: "San Diego was an interesting one. I didn’t really feel comfortable early on, so we made some changes and they felt really good during the Heat race. I actually felt good and I was able to push and have some really good lap-times, so I went into the Main optimistic and got a decent start, but unfortunately, I got wrapped up with Chase. I got up and tried to charge through the pack, but then I crashed on the triple-quad section – before I knew it, I was on the ground. I’m not hurt bad – I’m just really sore – but I didn’t feel like my head was in the right space and I decided to call it a night.
