DOUBLE POLE AND DOUBLE VICTORY FOR TRUE RACING: TRIUMPHAL HOCKENHEIM EVENT FOR KOFLER & JANITS!

  • Sensational racing weekend for True Racing at the second ADAC GT4 Germany event
  • KTM works driver Reinhard Kofler and Florian Janits take two pole positions and both wins
  • Czech team RTR Projects conquers the trophy classification in the second race on Sunday

With 22 starters on the grid, the field of participants in the ADAC GT4 Germany continued to grow for the second race weekend at the Hockenheim Motodrom, so the competition for the two KTM teams – True Racing / Reiter Engineering with KTM factory driver Reinhard Kofler and Florian Janits and RTR Projects with Jan Krabec and Lenny Marioneck – was a little bigger. For the races, both teams – the first with the "EVO" version of 2020, the second with the KTM X-BOW GT4 of the 2019 model year – did not expect too great a chance, as the Hockenheim track with its two long straights usually tends to help the competitors.

However, the KTM X-BOW GT4 "EVO" was able to keep up particularly well during practice, while RTR Projects had to deal with grip problems on the rear axle. Then sensation in the first qualifying: Florian Janits took pole position! It got even better in the first race, in which the rest of the field didn’t stand a chance against the duo Janits/Kofler that took victory! The pairing Krabec/Marioneck, however, had a lot of bad luck: Hit by a competitor in the first lap, they fell far behind and were only fifteenth in the end. KTM works rider Reinhard Kofler: “It was by no means easy, we had to fight hard. When the tires started to go at the end of the race, I was able to pass and take the win. Many thanks to KTM Sportcar GmbH, but above all to the entire Reiter Engineering team, who worked perfectly after the difficult Nürburgring weekend and solved the problems. And of course thanks to Achim Schlafke from RMN Bauen & Wohnen, who made this season possible, being the main sponsor!"

The second qualifying on Sunday was also the “prey” of True Racing, Reinhard Kofler achieved pole position and drove a strong first stint in the afternoon race before handing the KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO over to Florian Janits. During the final 25 minutes Janits literally surpassed himself and at the beginning of the last lap he catched the leading Porsche: “I gave everything to make this victory possible. And that, although the BoP adjustment on Sunday cost us a bit of performance and our pit stop time was seven seconds longer due to the regulations! The overtaking maneuver at the end was very tight, but it was enough. I'm really happy, thanks to Reini, to Reiter and to KTM as well as to my partners EnergieDirect and Storage24, who are supporting me this season! ”After a strong performance by Lenny Marioneck and Jan Krabec, the end of the weekend went well for RTR Projects: Eleventh place overall and victory in the “Trophy” classification were a good reward for their efforts.
