Super sportscars and racing machines may be idolised on the road and feared on the track, but they are also coveted by gamers around the world, too. No wonder, then, that racing and super sportscar manufacturer KTM Sportcar GmbH’s successful track record on the circuit has been successfully transposed to the digital domain. KTM cars are available in some of the most popular racing games in the world, with the KTM X-BOW GT-XR1 becoming the latest addition to Need for Speed No Limits.

“It’s fantastic that virtual racers around the globe can now race the KTM X-BOW GT-XR in-game,” says Laura Kraihamer, Head of Motorsport & Marketing at KTM Sportcar GmbH. “We worked closely with the developers at Electronic Arts to make sure that the KTM X-BOW GT-XR both looks amazing and gives the same uncompromising experience in the game as it does in real life.”
“It was an absolute pleasure working with the KTM team to introduce the Need For Speed No Limits community to KTM and the striking X-Bow GT-XR. KTM is a brand we've been hoping to include for some time, and when the opportunity arose, the team immediately adjusted the roadmap to accommodate the brand,” says Silaj Mondal, Community Manager at Electronic Arts. “I truly appreciate the enthusiasm and readiness the team has shown for our titles. Their cooperation made the entire introduction and integration process seamless. The car was added to Need For Speed No Limits in the February update, and it was well-received by the community. I am eager to see how the Real Racing 3 community will react to the X-BOW when we release the car in our April update.”
The Austrian manufacturer is a pioneering force when it comes to bring its models to the digital domain. KTM became the first manufacturer to work with developers on an official virtual model with the addition of the KTM X-BOW GT4 to Assetto Corsa. From the KTM X-BOW to the KTM X-BOW GT2, almost all KTM models can now be driven virtually in games such as Gran Turismo, Forza, Project Cars and Grid. The X-BOW GT-XR in Need for Speed No Limits is the latest uncompromising road-going super sportscar available in-game, proving that pure speed and adrenaline can be experienced virtually too.
“We put in a lot of development work, pass on real-life car data and extensively test the digital models,” Kraihamer adds. “We do this because it’s the perfect platform for us. Our drivers can train in a simulator environment, saving us expensive on-track testing, and we can spark enthusiasm for motorsport as well as the KTM brand and its super sportscars for millions of young people.”
KTM models are available in the following racing games:
Gran Turismo, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon, Project Cars, Rebel Racing, The Crew, Asphalt Airbone 8, Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, CSR 2, RaceRoom, iRacing, Grid, Real Racing 3 and Need for Speed No Limits.
