    The Motocross World Championship, known as MXGP since 2014, started in 1957 and is one of the hardest and most physical motorsports in the world. KTM's history in MXGP began in the 1970s and ever since Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has been a dominant team. 15 MX2 titles have been won with the KTM 250 SX-F and 8 MXGP championships with the KTM 450 SX-F and KTM 350 SX-F since 2010.

    For 2025, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing boasts an impressive six rider line-up in the MXGP and MX2 divisions. 5-time World Champion, Jeffrey Herlings and newbie Lucas Coenen will lead the brand on the KTM 450 SX-F in MXGP, while Andrea Adamo, Sacha Coenen, Simon Längenfelder and Marc Antoine-Rossi will be READY TO RACE for top positions on the KTM 250 SX-F in MX2. 

    The MXGP schedule includes 20 rounds in 15 countries, ending in October with the FIM Motocross of Nations.

    For 2025 the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing North American wing will enter as defending champions in AMA Supercross and Motocross racing. Chase Sexton will look to take back his 450SX title and defend his 450MX crown during the outdoor season, partnered by Aaron Plessinger on the KTM 450 SX-F. In the 250 division, former MX2 World Champion, Tom Vialle will fight to defend his AMA Supercross 250 East Championship alongside teammate Julien Beaumer on the KTM 250 SX-F.

    ABOUT JEFFREY 5-time World Champion Jeffrey Herlings, known as ‘the Bullet’, is a Dutch motocross rider and one of the longest serving Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders to date. Herlings is one of the most dominant figures in the world of motocross, known for his unmatched speed and fearless riding style, especially in the sand. After making his MX2 season debut in 2010, it took Herlings just two years to win his first world title in 2012, followed by two more MX2 championships in 2013 and 2016. After making the move up to the premier class, Herlings also conquered the MXGP class to win the world championship in 2018 and 2021. With 5-titles to his name, Herlings has no plans to slow down as he continues his fight for world title number six.

    ABOUT ANDREA Andrea Adamo is an Italian Motocross rider from Sicily who competes in the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship aboard the 250 SX-F. In 2021, Adamo completed his first full season in MX2 and by the following year became a member of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team and was challenging for podium positions. In 2023, Adamo achieved his career highlight by clinching the MX2 World Championship, solidifying his place as one of Italy's top motocross athletes. 2025 will see Adamo’s third season with the team with the goal of adding another world title to his name.

    ABOUT SACHA Sacha Coenen is a Belgian-born Motocross rider for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing De Carli. One half of the powerful Coenen-twin duo, Sacha has gained attention for his remarkable skills and fierce determination. Debuting in the FIM MX2 World Championship at young age, Coenen has already two GP victories under his belt, making him one of the top competitors in the class. 2025 will be another opportunity for Coenen to chase victories and podiums.

    SUPERCROSS

    The SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) is the premier dirt bike competition in the United States. Merging the 17-round AMA Supercross Championship and the 11-round AMA Pro Motocross Championship, topped with the SMX Playoffs and Finals, held in September.  Supercross races in MLB and NFL stadiums across North America from January to May, featuring events like the Triple Crown and categories such as 450SX and regional 250SX divisions, while Pro Motocross, with 450MX and 250MX classes, follows in summer. 

    KTM has achieved a total of four titles in the premier Supercross class with the KTM 450 SX-F and three with the KTM 250 SX-F in the 250 division. Alongside four Pro Motocross titles across the 450 (3) and 250 (1) divisions. The 2025 line-up for Supercross and Pro Motocross includes 2023 450SX Champion and defending 450MX Champion, Chase Sexton, alongside teammate Aaron Plessinger on the KTM 450 SX-F. While in the 250 division, defending Supercross 250 East Champion, Tom Vialle, alongside 2024’s Rookie of the Year, Julien Beaumer, who will fight for victories on the KTM 250 SX-F.

    ABOUT TOM Tom Vialle is a French Supercross and Motocross rider from Avignon, France. Vialle first made a name for himself in Europe, after winning two MX2 World Championship titles together with KTM. Once Europe was conquered, the Frenchman set his sights on success across the Atlantic Ocean. Much like his idol Marvin Musquin (former Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider), Vialle was able to translate his European success over in the US to become the 2024 Supercross 250 East Champion! 2025 will be Vialle’s third season in America, as he continues upon his mission of success together with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.

    ABOUT JULIEN Julien Beaumer is an American Supercross and Motocross rider from Lake Havasu City, AZ. Beaumer made his professional 250 debut in 2023 on board the 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, a season that saw him finish well inside the top 10 and podium at the SMX Play-off two, in Texas. Looking to build upon the lessons of his rookie season, Beaumer will be READY TO RACE for top results in 2025.

    Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and Red Bull KTM Tech3 can now look to the first of 22 Grands Prix this season after completing two hot and hectic days of testing activity at the Buriram International Circuit in Thailand. As in Malaysia last week, Pedro Acosta was the pacesetter from the quartet on KTM RC16s and ended the second day 4th fastest. The rush to the opening round of the campaign continued in earnest and in the roasting dry heat at Buriram, the circuit where the Thai Grand Prix will take place the first weekend of March. The two Red Bull KTM teams had travelled from Sepang, Malaysia to Bangkok for the official season launch last weekend and then headed northeast from the capital for the last phases of testing and homologation decisions for this term and for 2026. The factory had to gather and filter all the information from the hundreds of laps at Sepang. The outings at Buriram meant more evaluation and then confirmation of settings and hardware choices with the Thai GP very much on the horizon. Acosta’s best lap was less than 0.3 of a second from P1 as Maverick Viñales, Brad Binder and Enea Bastianini were all within one second of the top of the time sheets. Viñales placed 9th on combined times for the two days and 0.7 away. Binder was a fraction adrift in P12 and 0.8. Bastianini ranked P15 in just his third outing with the KTM RC16. The top 15 MotoGP riders were separated by one second at Buriram. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and Red Bull KTM Tech3 will now have a brief respite to apply their final touches to the race machinery and confirm engine and aerodynamic mods for 2025. MotoGP will assemble in Buriram during the final week of February to get an exciting and anticipated year speeding into action. Pedro Acosta, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, 4th: “We need to be happy. Again, we tried many things and we are getting the pace quite fast. It’s been a good pre-season for me and also for KTM because all four riders are thinking the same way, and the bike has already improved from last year. We are faster and it is easier for me to go faster. We need to be calm and then see how we can start the season here.” Maverick Viñales, Red Bull KTM Tech3, 9th: “I am still trying to understand entry and braking – which is one of the strong parts of the bike – because I’m not yet at the maximum. The exit of the corner is so nice and I have grip. Anyway, it’s coming! I feel comfortable but to get to the next point I just need a little bit more understanding and I’m missing little bits on a flying lap. I need to put the tricks of the bike into my style and it takes time. I’m much closer than I was in Sepang, so that is good.” Brad Binder, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, 12th: “Two days here has gone quickly. We did some time attacks in the morning today and then a longer run in the afternoon and it was not too bad. Some small steps for sure, and better than when we were here last time. I feel that we are doing quite well and we need to put some more small pieces together for when we come back here in two weeks. It will be nice to have a full race weekend: I feel like we have done a lot of testing already!” Enea Bastianini, Red Bull KTM Tech3, 15th: “My approach has to be different. The bike is different and I have to adapt to another style and also understand the difference between new and used tires. We didn’t get a Sprint simulation done today but we can just look ahead to the race now.” Aki Ajo, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager: “Very busy weeks in Malaysia and Thailand but finally we have to be happy about all the development that has happened over the winter; for that a big thanks to all the engineers and the crew at the factory who have been working hard in this short time. The team at the tracks have been very focused and we have followed the program quite well. Here at Buriram we turned to testing a bit more for the season ahead and it has been promising. Testing is always testing but the measuring point then comes at the races. As I say constantly: let’s try to be better each day and that’s the way ahead.” Sebastian Risse, KTM Technical Director MotoGP: “We are now ready for the first race. What we did here was a continuation of what we were working on in Sepang, not only for the homologation but for other parts we’ve been working on in a short logistical time frame, far from our base. We had to work very hard to get everything here and ready but we did it. These days we managed to bring all of our test items together as well as the directions people were going with their choices into a common path. We were fast and the bike feels good for the guys who have experience with it, while we went through a learning curve with the others but they showed some good highlights and I think there is more to come.     Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's reigning 250SX East Champion Tom Vialle has opened his defense with a measured P5 finish in Tampa's first round of the Eastern Regional series, as 450SX teammate Chase Sexton extended his advantage in the 2025 AMA Supercross Championship standings with a fifth-place result at Raymond James Stadium. Tampa marked the opening round for the 250 SX East division, with two-time MX2 World Champion Vialle sporting the number 1 plate aboard his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION and ready to mount another title challenge this season. After qualifying 10th at the conclusion of this afternoon's sessions, Vialle rallied in the night’s opening Heat Race, racing up front with the leader before posting a strong ride that earned the Frenchman a third-place finish. Vialle paced himself during the 250SX East Main Event, with the track proving to be a significant challenge to the riders with its slick, hard-packed base. With that in mind, a measured performance at the season-opening round saw him register an eventual P5 result. Tom Vialle: "I had a big crash through the whoops in qualifying, so I was lucky to get away with that one. I didn't feel great in practice or qualifying, although felt a bit better for the night show and P5 for our first Main Event of the year. It's not bad, and although it's not where we want to be, we'll build from here and get better for next weekend." Equipped with the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, Sexton powered his way to the top of the 450SX qualifying timesheets, achieving comfort early in the day on what proved to be a difficult circuit layout. The momentum would continue for the number 4, who braved a chaotic first turn during his Heat Race to emerge in the mid-pack. From there, a patient ride eventuated in a late pass for the lead, with Sexton breezing to the race win from there. The Main Event was going to plan for the championship red plate-holder, as he held the lead early, building upon his margin as the race continued. An untimely late-race fall saw Sexton surrender P1, and have to nurse his way home in order to consolidate and maximize points, which he would achieve with a gritty fifth place on the night. Chase Sexton: "Not the way I wanted to end my night after a good day in Tampa. I was solid all day and qualified fastest, but on a bad lap in the Main Event I went down in the whoops while leading and damaged my front brake and throttle, so basically just had to salvage what I could, limping it home to finish out the race – not an ideal way to finish out the weekend. We’ll get to work again this week and come out swinging at Detroit." Red Bull KTM Factory Racing teammate Aaron Plessinger raced to an impressive second-place finish during the night’s opening 450SX Heat Race, with recent progress paying dividends for 'The Cowboy' in Florida. With starts now at a premium in the highly-competitive 450SX field, Plessinger suffered from track position in the Main Event, and was battling for position inside the top 10 throughout. Continuing to fight, he would finish the night with a P8 result, which marks his best finish of the year so far. Aaron Plessinger: "The afternoon was tough, but we found a setting heading into the Heat Race and felt like I ripped in that one! I made a few good passes in the first couple of laps, then ended up second. Come the Main, my start was decent before I got shuffled back early, and just rode around in eighth from there.
