Strong KTM X-BOW offering in ESET Cup and Touring Car Masters

ESET Cup and Touring Car Masters are back, with the opening races set to take place at the Hungaroring from 8 to 10 April. The familiar faces of RTR Projects, MZR Racing and razoon – more than racing will be back once again to compete, utilising three separate versions of the KTM X-BOW. All three customer teams will be looking to build on past success in the 2022 season.

RTR Projects made the headlines for multiple reasons in 2021. The team debuted with the KTM X-BOW GTX at the Slovakiaring and also secured the title in the GT4 classification with driver Matěj Pavlíček. The goal for 2022 is clear: title defence. Team and drivers will be able to count on the wealth of experience with KTM X-BOW models. The ESET Cup is an important platform for RTR Projects, who hail from the city of Brno in Czech Republic and have also competed in the 24H Series and ADAC GT4 Germany in the past.

“We know where the strengths of the KTM cars lie and will be entering one KTM X-BOW GTX and one KTM X-BOW GT4 this season,” explained team manager Eva Beníšková. “Matěj showed on multiple occasions last year that he is capable of winning the title in the GT4 class. For us, the ESET Cup is an important part of our KTM motorsport programme.”

KTM is one of the most widely represented manufacturers in the more than 20 car strong field, with further entries from customer teams MZR Racing and razoon – more than racing. The Austrian squad MZR Racing will be taking on the first round of the season with no fewer than four cars, while razoon – more than racing will be bringing a pair of KTM X-BOW RRs to the table.

MZR Racing is one of the largest and most successful teams in Touring Car Masters. With two KTM X-BOW GTXs, one GT4 model and a KTM X-BOW RR, the team will be entering four cars in the championship for the first time. Martin Koch will be on double-duty: as team manager and driver.

Teams and drivers will be battling for points and podiums at a total of six race weekends in 2022. The season includes sprint races as well as endurance races and will be travelling to multiple countries as part of the 2022 calendar with races at two current F1 circuits, the Hungaroring (8 to 10 April) and the Red Bull Ring (4 and 5 June), and the former MotoGP circuit in Brno (9 to 11 September).
