DÖRR MOTORSPORT TO TAKE ON NÜRBURGRING 24 HOURS WITH KTM X-BOW GT2

One of the largest and most spectacular motorsport events in the world is all set to take place on the weekend of 30 May to 2 June: the Nürburgring 24 Hours. The KTM X-BOW GT2 will once again be part of the festivities – which attract up to a quarter of a million fans to the Green Hell – in the capable hands of the Dörr Group. The specialist automotive dealer has a large range of super sports cars in its portfolio, and is also KTM’s exclusive sales partner in Germany. It uses the endurance classic in the Eifel Mountains as an important platform for its business.

“Alongside our sales of road-going KTM models, we will be expanding our commitment in 2024 with the addition of a programme at the Nürburgring 24 Hours – a fitting way to celebrate Dörr Motorsport’s 25th anniversary,” said Rainer Dörr, owner and founder of the Dörr Group. “We have a fantastic quartet of drivers on hand, and have been able to gather some valuable experience at our successful tests over the past few weeks.”

Max Hofer, Fabian Vettel, Christian Gebhardt and Ben Dörr got the chance to run the rule over the KTM X-BOW GT2 in racing conditions at the 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers in April. The four drivers focused on familiarising themselves with the car and working together as a team to refine the set-up. “The Nordschleife is unique and presents an enormous challenge,” says Uwe Isert, Team Manager Endurance at Dörr Motorsport GmbH. “Perfecting the set-up is all about working on those tiny details.”

Past experience will also be valuable when it comes to preparing for the upcoming 24-hour race, and KTM has a long tradition of competing at the Nürburgring. Many drivers made use of the KTM X-BOW GT4 to obtain their racing permit for the toughest track in the world, and customer teams have fought for top 10 results and class wins in the past with the KTM X-BOW GTX.

The Nürburgring 24 Hours is scheduled to start at 16:00 on Saturday 1 June. The race will be broadcast live on NITRO as well as on the official live stream.
