Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Chase Sexton earned a pivotal victory at Round 13 of the 2025 AMA Supercross Championship in Philadelphia, gaining valuable points toward his 450SX title prospects with just four rounds remaining. Sexton recorded the fastest qualifying time via a scorching final lap onboard his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, before charging to a convincing Heat Race win to open his race day. A come-from-behind ride after a first-turn tangle in the Main Event saw Sexton progressively climb his way through the 450SX field, with a measured performance seeing him take the lead around the halfway point. From there, he would keep the gap to second place to just above four seconds, claiming what was a stellar result for his fourth win of the season. Chase Sexton: “All I can do, really, is win from here on out, so today was good! I haven’t won a normal Main Event since Anaheim 1, so that was a big focus for me today, and I am happy to have been able to do that. The track was tough, I came into the first turn with AP [Aaron Plessinger] in the Main Event and maybe cut him off a bit too much, and he went down, and I went way wide, so I had my work cut out for me. Overall though, the ride was really good for me. I felt the flow all day today, so that was nice.” 450SX Class teammate Aaron Plessinger posted the sixth quickest time in the afternoon’s qualifying sessions, dialing his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION in on the rutted, technical Lincoln Financial Field layout. A fast start in his Heat Race saw ‘The Cowboy’ circulating in second place, before a decisive move at the middway mark earned the number 7 the second Heat Race victory for the event. Getting another good jump in the Main Event, Plessinger went down in the first turn, clawing his way back to eighth by the time the checkered flag flew. Aaron Plessinger: “We had a really good day going here in Philadelphia. I felt so good! Great start in the Heat Race, managed to win that one after passing Coop [Webb], then went into the Main Event with first gate pick. Then someone ran it in really hot to turn one and took me down, which really sucked because I felt like I could’ve made a really good run in the points here for the end of the season. It happens, we’ll go into New Jersey and pick up where we left off in the Heat, and hopefully pick up another win before the season is over.” Defending 250SX East Class Champion Tom Vialle qualified sixth in the 250SX combined times, before a fall while running in a transfer position sent the Frenchman to the LCQ. From there, he would qualify for the Main Event and power his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION to sixth place on the night – now sitting within two points of the red plate. Tom Vialle: “I had a pretty good afternoon going, a good start in my Heat Race, but then had a pretty big crash on lap two, and pretty lucky to be alright after that crash. Went to the LCQ and qualified through there for the Main, and yeah, I didn’t start great with my gate pick. I think I was around 10th and ended up coming back to sixth. The good point of today is that we’re only two back for the championship with three to go, so we’re still right there.” 250SX West Class contender Julien Beaumer returned to action in style in Philadelphia, charging his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION to the fastest overall qualifying time of the afternoon. The Arizona native then went to piece a strong Heat Race together, capturing third place entering the 250 Showdown. A difficult start to the Main Event following an early restart had Beaumer right at the rear of the field, with the number 23 mounting a charge for the remainder of the race and climbing to 12th. Julien Beaumer: “I started good by qualifying first, Heat Race was decent, and then I had a good first start to our Main Event, but then it got red-flagged. I spun off the gate on the restart and I was dead-last and struggled to get going from there. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Aaron Plessinger has captured an emphatic first 450SX Main Event victory of season 2025 at Round 12 of the AMA Supercross Championship in Foxborough, overcoming treacherous conditions to clinch a well-earned, popular win inside Gillette Stadium. Equipped with the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, Plessinger made the most of his mud riding skills by sealing the third-fastest time in the afternoon's sole 450SX qualifying session. Continuing his momentum into the Heat Race, ‘The Cowboy’ would claim a convincing second-place finish following a measured performance, setting him up well for the upcoming Main Event as the conditions intensified. Getting off to a fast start in the shortened Main Event, Plessinger patiently powered his way to the front of the field during the race's early stages, before stretching out to a 25-second lead across the nine-lap encounter, claiming what was a heroic first race win of the season. Aaron Plessinger: “I was nervous [in the lead up]! In a mud race, you never really know what’s going to happen – you can be as confident as you can be, but when that gate drops, you never really know. We pushed to the front as soon as we got out of the first turn clean in the Main, managed to keep it on two wheels and tried to cruise it on in, but it wasn’t an easy cruise by any means. It was tough, but I had a lot of fun! I'm stoked for the team, who never stopped believing in me even when things were tough at the beginning of the season. I can't thank them enough for that.” Following what was his fourth podium result in the past five races, Plessinger currently sits seventh and continues to make ground in the 2025 championship standings. 450SX teammate Chase Sexton piloted his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION to the second-fastest qualifying time inside Gillette Stadium, seizing his window to post a lap time in track conditions that were worsening by the lap. The rain continued to fall as he lined up for his Heat Race, with the number 4 proceeding to put on a clinic of patience and balance, crossing the finish line stripe in first place by over 30 seconds. He was later penalized by two positions for jumping on a red cross section of the track. In the Main Event, Sexton endured a mid-field start before climbing his way toward podium contention throughout the middle stages of the race. An untimely fall, however, in a difficult position on the circuit saw Sexton surrender a podium finish and was instead able to salvage a sixth-place result in a challenging night of racing. Chase Sexton: "The round started off well for me. P2 in qualifying, then won my Heat Race, but got docked those positions. That led to a bad gate pick in the Main and a terrible start, but overall, not a great Main Event. I fought as hard as I could and we’ll get ready for next weekend to rebound stronger.” The 250SX East Class returned to action in Foxborough, with defending champion Tom Vialle recommencing his pursuit for a second-consecutive crown. Onboard the KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, Vialle took his Heat Race victory to open the night program. Once the gates dropped on the Main Event, Vialle was running strong inside the top-five before a series of incidents in the closing stages of the race significantly hampered his final result, eventually credited 22nd position. Despite his troubles, the Frenchman maintains the Eastern Division red plate. Tom Vialle: "We finished up in Foxborough and it was a really rainy day here. I managed to win my Heat Race, and then the track was really challenging for the Main Event. I had a bad start and came back to fifth, and then had a crash with two laps to go, which kept us from finishing the race. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia has made an impressive start to his 2025 FIM EnduroGP World Championship campaign, claiming EnduroGP victory on day one in Portugal. Securing third place in EnduroGP on day two, Garcia also dominated the Enduro1 class on both days to take an early lead in the E1 championship standings.
MXGP encountered its first sandy challenge of the 2025 season with the Grand Prix of Sardinia and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing left the demanding bumps of Riola Sardo with more spoils. Standout performances came from Lucas Coenen on the KTM 450 SX-F who won the first moto on Sunday while Andrea Adamo collected another podium trophy with P3 in MX2. Jeffrey Herlings made his first GP appearance this year, scoring 15th overall.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Josep Garcia is all set to take on the seven-round 2025 FIM EnduroGP World Championship, starting this weekend with the GP of Portugal in Fafe, from 4-6 April.
Enea Bastianini grabbed 9 points for a 7th position finish at a chaotic but exciting Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas today. The Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider steered his KTM RC16 to the top seven and his best result to-date, classifying seven places ahead of teammate Maverick Viñales (who had to start from pitlane) at a warm and changeable Circuit of the Americas for the 37th premier class Grand Prix on American soil. The KTM GP Academy picked up more silverware with Jose Antonio Rueda swooping to his second Moto3™ victory of the year with an all-KTM RC4 podium.
