The hunt for podium results continues: during the third Fanatec GT2 European Series race weekend, the True Racing by Reiter Engineering team managed to finish on the podium in both classes. While Stefan Rosina and Filip Sladecka shone in the Pro-Am class, Klaus Angerhofer and Hubert Trunkenpolz convinced in the Am category.
In the first of the two races, Rosina and Sladecka ended up in second position of their category. In the process, the Slovakian driver pairing only lost out on victory in the final lap of the race. Until just before the end, Rosina was in the lead in the KTM X-BOW GT2 with starting number 15. However, after a late restart, the competition caught up and Rosina was overtaken by Brabham driver Anders Fjordbach.
It was even more exciting in race two that ended with a thriller and another podium finish for Stefan Rosina and Filip Sladecka. A look at the final results shows how thrilling it was: the four best-placed teams were separated by only one second. “Like this, one can accept not to be the winner for once. In the final laps, I was able to close up to the leaders, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find a way past. The race was fun like this as well and I assume it was a thrilling show we put on for the fans,” Sladecka said after crossing the finish line in third place.
Klaus Angerhofer and Hubert Trunkenpolz rounded out the team’s success. The two drivers of the #17 KTM X-BOW having finished fourth in the first race, they ended up third in the Am class in race two. With a total of 83 points, the two are also in third place of the drivers’ standings. “We wanted to finish on the podium and we have reached that goal,” a delighted Angerhofer said. “When it continues like this, we can remain in the top three of the championship.”
The next Fanatec GT2 European Series race weekend already takes place from 22 till 24 July at the “Ardennes roller coaster” Spa-Francorchamps.
