MIDDLE EAST TROPHY: TITLE DEFENCE TARGETED WITH KTM X-BOW GTX

KTM customer team razoon – more than racing will once again be competing in the Middle East Trophy this winter and – just like last year – the team will be campaigning a KTM X-BOW GTX. The series calendar encompasses three challenging endurance races in Kuwait, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The Graz-based squad is among the favourites in the hard-fought GTX class ahead of the season opener on 9 December in Kuwait. The team already demonstrated their potential with some style in 2022/2023, taking two wins and a further podium to win the championship in the Middle East Trophy’s maiden season. “That was the best way to round off our Middle East program,” said team principal Dominik Olbert. “With our success we once again showed that the KTM X-BOW GTX is perfect for endurance racing.”

A team of experienced drivers are set to take turns behind the wheel of the car, including Daniel Drexel, Artur Chwist and Olbert himself, at the upcoming Hankook 12H Kuwait. The trio will be supported again by local hero Haytham Qarajouli. The young Kuwaiti finished in third here with razoon – more than racing in 2022, making a major contribution to the title success.

The highlight of the championship is undoubtedly the Dubai 24 Hours, set to take place from 12 to 14 January 2024. Just one week later the team will move on to the impressive backdrop of the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi (19 to 21 January 2024) for the season finale. The goal for all three races is clear: “We want to defend our title,” says Olbert. “Ideally we want to win the GTX class in all three races, and we definitely have the package to do so. We are all highly motivated and can’t wait to take on the next few weeks.”
