Teichmann Racing confident after NLS participation

Ver Perfil
The “45th RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen” on 25 June was the next round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. For KTM customer team Teichmann Racing, it was also the perfect chance to find back on the road to success. After considerable setbacks during the 24-hour race some weeks earlier, the team from Adenau brought two KTM X-BOW GTX to the finish.

“For us, this race first and foremost was an important test for our cars,” team manager Michael Teichmann said after the four-hour race. “After the damages in the 24-hour race, we had to rebuild the cars. During the test laps on Friday, the feedback from the drivers already was positive throughout.”

And the impression from the drivers proved to be right: with fast lap times, the crews of the two KTM X-BOW GTXs qualified right behind the more powerful GT3 machines. Thanks to a faultless opening stage and a strong pace, the crews with starting numbers 920 and 927 managed to work their way up into the top 10. Alongside Stephan Brodmerkel and Constantin Schöll, the line-up of the #927 entry also included KTM works driver Reinhard Kofler. “I completed a double stint around the halfway point of the race. The car handled really well, and an intelligent strategy enabled us to stay in the top 10. However, we incurred trouble in the second half of the race, losing a lot of time as a result and therefore dropped back quite far,” the 37-year-old explained. “Nevertheless, I am really happy. The car has a good speed, and one really has to give the Teichmann team huge credit for having rebuilt the cars in a perfect way again.”

Equally promising, but eventually lacking the necessary bit of luck was the line-up of the sister car. As a result, hopes for a top result for Felix von der Laden, Yves Volte, Georg Griesemann and Maik Rönnefarth were blown due to a puncture. “We had a good start and worked our way up into the top 10. Unfortunately, the puncture cost us a lot of time that we couldn’t make up in the time that was left. Too bad as the result of today’s race doesn’t reflect our veritable performance,” Yves Volte commented.

Nevertheless, Michael Teichmann’s verdict is positive: “In qualifying, we managed to end up right behind the GT3 class and the speed in the race was very good, too. That is what we will build on in the next races because we know that we have a good package that enables us to be in contention for positions at the front.”

The next Nürburgring Endurance Series round takes place on 9 July with a duration of six hours.

KTM X-BOW GT-XR: The new name of the super sportscar from KTM

Ver Perfil
KTM X-BOW GT-XR. It’s a name that fits perfectly with a racing car – with one key difference: the latest super sportscar from KTM is a road-going machine. The name of the “GT car for the road” is sure to give KTM fans and enthusiasts an idea of what they can expect from the new model. “This is a special moment for our company and, above all, for the entire team that has driven forward development over the past few months and years,” says Hubert Trunkenpolz, member of the KTM AG Executive Board. “We have put our heart and soul into this project, which makes it all the more pleasing to see the car be given a name. Through KTM X-BOW GT-XR, we wanted to express the car’s close links to racing, which was one of the top priorities during the development process.” It's clear to see that the newly developed KTM X-BOW GT-XR has its roots in motorsport. The KTM X-BOW GT2, which made a successful on-track debut in 2021 with numerous race wins and the title in the GT2 European Series, forms the technical basis for the new car. Features were added to the base model to make the KTM X-BOW GT-XR road-legal. KTM’s motto “Ready to Race” is reflected in every facet of the machine: from lightweight technology to ensure the best possible balance in every situation to the fully carbon chassis that raises the bar in terms of safety. The road car also benefits from aerodynamics that have been tried and tested on the circuit, along with a number of other high-performance components. The unique shape of the new model is based on KTM’s racing machinery and is the perfect combination of performance and puristic design. There are clear links to KTM’s racing cars, including across all design elements and dimensions. The high-quality, hand-produced vehicle is also strictly limited in number.

A festival of GT racing for fans and drivers alike: The GT Celebration kicked off its new season at Sonoma Raceway with the first of seven races. The curtain-raiser at the circuit just north of San Francisco was all about the KTM X-BOW – for two good reasons. Nicolai Elghanayan secured a class win in his GT4 model, while the KTM X-BOW RR made its debut in California as the series’ official pace and safety car.   “The GT Celebration is a great platform for us and our cars,” said Michael Wölfling, Managing Director of KTM Sportcar GmbH. “We have closely monitored the series’ development and are delighted to be a part of it. Customer teams have already been successful here, so we take great pride in moving this partnership forward. It was a joy to see the KTM X-BOW RR make its debut as the pace car.”   Rob Morgan is also happy to see the partnership flourish: “It’s an honor to be linked with a global brand such as KTM,” the GT Celebration president said. “We had one driver compete with us last season in the KTM X-BOW which sparked a lot of interest. We then had a meeting with Michael last November and the conversation went from there. We look forward to seeing where this partnership may lead.”   The popularity of the Austrian sportscar in the US is practically all down to one man: Michael Kopper. The entrepreneur and racing driver entered a KTM X-BOW GTX in the series in 2021 and was also present at the first round of the 2022 season together with Team Chicago Performance and Tuning Co.   GT Celebration teams and drivers now have a long season of competition featuring six further race weekends, each comprising two races. Stop on the 2022 calendar include such prestigious tracks as Road Atlanta, Virginia International Raceway and the F1 circuit in Austin.

Championship title and maiden win to conclude GT2 European Series season 2021

  • After early title win, Sportec Motorsport crowns the inaugural season with another highlight
    • Reiter Engineering and True Racing round out clean sweep of the top three in the final standings
The best was saved for last: in the GT2 European Series season finale, Christoph Ulrich once again proved his qualities behind the wheel of a KTM X-BOW GT2. The Swiss already having shone with numerous podium finishes and class wins in the course of the season, at Le Castellet, he managed to score his maiden win in the race series that had its inaugural season in 2021.   In a spectacular final stage, the 49-year-old had the upper hand over the competition and was first across the finish line. “Christoph has shown a super performance throughout the year,” says Marcel Fässler, who is responsible for the motorsport activities of the KTM customer team. “He has more than deserved this victory, especially after the strong duels with opponents from the Pro-Am class.”   With 201 points to his tally, Christoph Ulrich is the champion in the Am class. His fellow KTM drivers Kris Rosenberger and Hans-Joachim Stuck collected a total of 156 points and secured runner-up spot in the final class standings. The Reiter Engineering duo particularly shone with consistency during the season. The two finished on the podium in nine of the ten races, also in the two final races in the south of France.   With another KTM X-BOW GT2, Sehdi Sarmini secured fifth place (Pro-Am class) in the first of the weekend’s two races. The KTM driver raced for the True Racing team that ended up third in the drivers’ standings with Klaus Angerhofer and Hubert Trunkenpolz.   Hubert Trunkenpolz, board member, KTM AG commented: “Congratulations to the Sportec team and to Christoph Ulrich. With their victory at Paul Ricard, they have shown impressively that they have deserved this title. I would also like to congratulate Reiter Engineering and True Racing on second and third in the championship. Third position in the Pro-Am class would have been possible, but unfortunately there was a collision between Sehdi Sarmini and a another KTM driver. Sarmini and Rosina were super strong for the whole year and would have well earned this final championship finish. It was a spectacular debut season for the GT2 European Series and a worthy stage for the KTM X-BOW GT2.”

Faultless Teichmann Racing performance rewarded with class victory and overall twelfth place

  • Overall twelfth place and CUPX class victory for Teichmann Racing
  • Debut for YouTube star Felix von der Laden at the wheel of the KTM X-BOW GTX
  • CCS Racing and Razoon Racing participate in the GTC Race at the Lausitzring
Teichmann Racing made an impressive return from the summer break to the Nürburgring Endurance Series. The Nordschleife 6-hour race saw the KTM team delivering top results, not only with the X-BOW GTX but also with the X-BOW GT4. CCS Racing and Razoon Racing scored points in the GTC Race at the Lausitzring. Teichmann Racing’s track record speaks for itself: in the last four races of the highly competitive championship, the racing squad achieved the jump into the top 15 of the standings. Felix von der Laden was one of those involved in the recent success, having celebrated his racing debut in the KTM X-BOW GTX. “I was really excited before my first appearance in the KTM X-BOW GTX. Basically, it’s the fastest car in the field after the GT3s,” the YouTube star admits. “It was definitely a lot of fun ploughing through the traffic and leaving one or two GT3 cars behind us. Twelfth place is a fantastic result!” Together with Daniel Bohr, Timo Mölig and Reinhard Kofler, von der Laden started in a car with a special design. Running under the motto “Shark alarm on the Nürburgring,” the Adenau squad painted shark teeth on the front of the X-BOW – an initiative resulting from the cooperation between the KTM Customer Team and the ice hockey club “Kölner Haie” (Cologne Sharks). The #930 KTM X-BOW GT4’s race also ended successfully with second in the CUPX class. However, it meant quite a lot of hard work for Georg Griesemann, Maik Rönnefarth, Yves Volte and Tim Sandtler, before they could get to cheer. A barrier hit during Saturday morning’s qualifying cost valuable time and made the four KTM drivers finish the session in 87th place. The fact that the quartet moved up as far as 24th overall in the six-hour race was down to their faultless drive. Karl Heinz Teichmann, Stephan Brodmerkel, Michael Mönch and Tamino Bergmeier were less lucky. For the four #927 KTM X-BOW GT4 drivers, the seventh round ended in the first third of the race due to manifold damage. “There was a fire. We can’t be sure this wasn’t the result of damage from a collision, so we must analyse it first,” the team stated. CCS Racing and Razoon Racing were driving on the same weekend, but on another racetrack. While the CCS Racing crew from Bavarian Cham secured sixth in the first sprint race and eighth in the Goodyear 60 with the X-BOW GTX, Razoon Racing (KTM X-BOW GT4) came up trumps with a third place in the GTC Race’s second sprint.

NÜRBURGRING DTM TROPHY RACE PROVES CHALLENGING FOR THE KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO

Ver Perfil
  • True Racing by Reiter Engineering enter two KTM X-BOW GT4 EVOs in the DTM Trophy
  • Ninth place and four points for KTM works driver Reinhard Kofler
  • Starting positions in the midfield and towards the back of the field dash hopes of more points
It was a challenging weekend for True Racing by Reiter Engineering in the DTM Trophy. There were plenty of setbacks for Reinhard Kofler and Laura Kraihamer in the battle for points, and ninth place in the first of the two races was the best the team could hope for. The Nürburgring round marked KTM works driver Kofler’s second appearance in the GT championship in 2021 following the race in Monza: “I had high hopes coming into this weekend,” said the 36-year-old. “We finished second here last year, which is the KTM X-BOW GT4s best result in the DTM Trophy to date, so I have fond memories of the circuit.” The experienced KTM driver would have loved to have repeated his podium success of the previous year, but 13th on the grid wasn’t the ideal starting point. However, thanks to an excellent start – overtaking four competitors in just a handful of corners – ‘Reini’ was still able to finish ninth and take home four points. The points haul on Saturday was followed by disappointment on Sunday. Reinhard Kofler was eyeing up another top 10 finish, but a spin on lap 13 put paid to his hopes. Even though there was no damage to his X-BOW, but the chance of a points-paying position in round six had gone. Laura Kraihamer finished 17th (Saturday) and 14th (Sunday) in the two races at the historic circuit. Starting positions towards the rear of the grid cost the 30-year-old any hope of solid finishes the tightly fought series. Kraihamer’s battle through the field on Sunday, making up five places, was one of the highlights of the weekend. The DTM Trophy continues with KTM’s home race in Austria. The series visits the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg from 3 to 5 September, as the circuit in the Austrian mountains plays host to the seventh and eighth rounds of the season.

Debut for MotoGP™star Miguel Oliveira in the KTM X-BOW GTX

MotoGP ace Miguel Oliveira will be swapping two wheels for four for a special guest appearance in the KTM X-BOX GTX cockpit at the Barcelona 24 Hours. The three-time MotoGP race winner will be driving for True Racing at the endurance race, which is set to go forth from 3 to 5 September at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This will be Oliveira’s first appearance in international car racing.   “I am super excited and also incredibly proud to get the chance to be a part of this race,” said Oliveira, who is otherwise found riding for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing at the pinnacle of motorcycle racing. His guest appearance with the True Racing customer team carries added importance, as Oliveira reveals: “Motorcycle racing has been part of almost my entire life, but my career began in the Portuguese karting championship, which is why I am so keen to race four wheels. There was absolutely no hesitation on my part when Mr Trunkenpolz invited me.” For Hubert Trunkenpolz, board member of KTM AG, the brand's motorsport activities are a matter close to his heart. He himself regularly competes in races with the KTM X-BOW GT2 and will take part in the 24 Hours of Barcelona with the KTM X-BOW GTX for True Racing.   Miguel Oliveira is used to being left to his own devices when it comes to racing in MotoGP, but in the 24H Series, he will have the support of strong teammates. The Portuguese will be joining forces with KTM works driver Reinhard Kofler as well as Peter Kox and Ferdinand Stuck. “I look forward to learning as much as I can from them,” Oliveira says. “Competition is obviously a substantial part of racing, but I think my top priority will be to find my feet and have some fun.”   Besides the entry featuring the MotoGP star, three other KTM X- BOW GTXs will be on the grid for the Barcelona 24 Hours. True Racing has a second entry in the GTX class, while RTR Projects and Reiter Engineering will each be racing X-BOWs too. The car entered by Hans Reiter and his team, with its spectacular Felbermayr livery, is among the favourites for overall victory.   The Hankook 24H Barcelona will go green at 12:00 on Saturday 4 September. Before the race, teams and drivers will have the chance to prepare for the race with free practice and qualifying sessions. The event will be broadcast live on the race organiser’s website (24hseries.com), where live timing will also be made available.

  • KTM X-BOW GT2 delivers strong performance in the Fanatec GT2 European Series
  • Ardennes roller coaster stage for KTM X-BOW GT2 debut victory
  • Early championship title for Swiss KTM pilot Christoph Ulrich and Sportec
The second race of the weekend at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium will live long in the memory at KTM. Sehdi Sarmini and Stefan Rosina (True Racing) prevailed against the assembled competition of Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini, wrapping up the maiden victory for a KTM X-BOW GT2 in the SRO-organised series. The pair had secured pole position for the race after an excellent qualifying performance. In overall second place, Swiss driver Christoph Ulrich crossed the finish line after having already managed to clinch third and thus a podium in Saturday’s run. The Sportec Motorsport driver crowned himself winner of the Am class in both races. Due to his outstanding performance in Belgium, Ulrich managed to gather enough points to secure an early championship victory in his class. Ahead of the season finale at Le Castellet, he holds an unassailable lead at the top of the Am championship table. Kris Rosenberg and motorsport legend Hans-Joachim Stuck completed a fantastic clean sweep of the podium for KTM. The pair had signalled their intentions for the weekend with a strong fourth-place finish in race one but were able to go one better on Sunday. Hubert Trunkenpolz and Klaus Angerhofer (True Racing) finished sixth and ninth respectively. Michael Bleekemolen and Peter Kox were forced to retire due to an on-track incident – Bleekemolen walking away from the crash unscathed. “I am delighted to see that the KTM X-BOW GT2s were able to impressively prove their potential on a circuit as demanding and legendary as Spa-Francorchamps,” said Hubert Trunkenpolz, Executive Board member of KTM AG. “On the one hand, we celebrated a threefold success in the second round with Sarmini and Rosina at the top. On the other, we were able to dominate the Am class. That only demonstrates how well the KTM X-BOW GT2 works. Congratulations go out to Sportec Motorsport and Christoph Ulrich for their early Am class championship victory!”

  • Rick Bouthoorn and Leo Pichler on the podium twice at the GTC season opener
  • One win and one second place in the two sprint races at Oschersleben
  • Mixed emotions at the third ADAC GT4 Germany weekend at Zandvoort
Following the two successful race weekends of the ADAC GT4 Germany in Oscherselben and at the Red Bull Ring, the factory-supported team "razoon - more than racing" also kicked off the 2021 season at the GTC Race on July 2. Once again, the venue for the opening races was the 3.67-kilometer circuit in the Magdeburger Börde region. On each of the five varied motorsport weekends, the ADAC's mass sports series consists of two 30 minute sprint races and the Goodyear 60 - an endurance race with a mandatory pit stop lasting 60 minutes. In the latter race, two drivers share the cockpit. The GTC race sees GT4 and GT3 specification cars compete in seven different classes. The winner among the young drivers of the newly created GT4 lineup receives a free GT3 cockpit for the following year. An opportunity that 16-year-old Dutchman Rick Bouthoorn and Austrian Leo Pichler, three years Bouthoorn's senior, did not want to miss. Pichler usually lines up to battle on the track alongside the young German driver Leon Wassertheurer in the ADAC GT4 Germany. The machine is the same here as there, an X-BOW GT4 from the Austrian small series manufacturer KTM with up to 340 hp - depending on the BoP. On Friday, the two young drivers had already succeeded in securing a good starting position for Saturday's race with third place overall in qualifying for the Goodyear 60. Leo Pichler was just 0.56 seconds behind Denis Bulatov, the fastest driver in qualifying. The race on Saturday also began promisingly: Starting driver Leo Pichler drove a strong first half of the race and handed over the car to Rick Bouthoorn in second place. The young Dutchman briefly stalled the engine and lost seven seconds in the pits, but after a brilliant recovery drive from third place he was only 1.5 seconds behind the two leaders shortly before the end of the race. But Bouthoorn's final push came to an abrupt end in the gravel trap through no fault of his own after the eye of the right rear wishbone was broken. Confident in his own strength, Rick Bouthoorn moved forward from this disappointment on Sunday as he entered his first sprint race. The Dutch teenager put Denis Bulatov in the Mercedes AMG under pressure right from the start. However, Bulatov withstood the onslaught well and drove a faultless race. Bouthoorn was nevertheless highly satisfied with second place in his first sprint race: "It's a really good starting point for my ultimate target: overall victory in the championship and the GT3 cockpit." Leo Pichler fared even better. The young Austrian went into his first GTC sprint race in pole position. Porsche racer Luca Arnold delivered an outstanding start on the asphalt and temporarily took the lead from Pichler. But by the second lap the 19-year-old had already seized the momentum back with a spirited overtaking maneuver and passed Arnold. He then pulled around five seconds clear of the chasing pack and maintained this strong lead until crossing the finish line. With his victory, Pichler has put himself in an excellent position for the upcoming races: "I'm already really looking forward to my next outing in the KTM X-BOW GT4!" This race was scheduled for the following weekend in Zandvoort as part of the ADAC GT4 Germany. "Unlike at the Red Bull Ring with its three long straights, where we don't really stand a chance due to the slower top speed, the challenging track in North Holland with its numerous corners suits us better," said team boss Dominik Olbert to summarize before the start of the event. “Unfortunately, we had to skip the test day because the dates clashed with the GTC. But our guys are fast and they'll get the job done!” Pichler and Wassertheurer certainly made their presence felt in the free practice sessions. With a gap of just four tenths of a second to BMW racers Piana/Schrey - generally the fastest on the grid - 19-year-old German Leon Wassertheurer was able to claim seventh place in the standings and a fastest time in the second sector during the second free practice session; expectations for race day were therefore running high. This time, the task of qualifying fell to Leo Pichler. Although the Austrian was just a few tenths of a second off the theoretical best time, the razoon more than racing team started the race from seventh on the grid. After an outstanding first lap, in which Pichler gained a place to move up into sixth, the KTM X-BOW landed in the gravel due to an unwelcome front end knock by Allied Racing Porsche racer Wiskirchen. Pichler was able to free himself from the gravel under his own steam, but the young driver - somewhat overzealous after losing his place - then collided with the McLaren of Dörr Motorsport. The impetuous maneuver not only resulted in the team retiring, but also caused the stewards to issue a five-place grid penalty for the second race on Sunday. Bearing this handicap, Leon Wassertheurer headed out on track to deliver some fast times on Sunday morning, but fell short of his own expectations with a rather disappointing 15th place. Due to the penalty issued the previous day, it was now a case of starting at the back of the field. In a turbulent race that included one red flag and two lengthy periods behind the safety car, the young drivers made up eight places and limited the damage by finishing 12th: “In terms of pace, we could have been among the front runners. Unfortunately, we never got it right this weekend. However, I'm really pleased with the speed and performance in the second race,” summed up razoon boss Olbert. “I'm sure we'll enjoy success in the upcoming races at the Nürburgring (August 6 to 8) and Sachsenring (October 1 to 3), where we'll be racing right at the front.”

LONG-DISTANCE SUCCESSES FOR THE KTM X-BOW GTX: SENSATION IN JAPAN, PODIUM FINISH IN HOCKENHEIM!

  • At the 24-hour race Fuji, the KTM X-BOW GTX sensationally takes 2nd place overall
  • “KTM Cars Japan" and "Syntium Apple" also win the ST1 class in superior fashion
  • Third podium in the third race for the KTM X-BOW GTX in the Creventic 24 H Series
The endurance successes of the new KTM X-BOW GTX continue. At the traditional 24-hour race in Fuji, the Japanese KTM X-BOW importer "KTM Cars Japan" was able to score a sensational success with their "Syntium Apple" racing team. The usual three-man driver team around KTM Cars Japan CEO Kazuho Takahashi was expanded for the endurance classic by two drivers from the Super GT series: Takahashi, Taiyo Iida and Hiroki Katoh were thus joined by Takashi Kobayashi and Hiroki Yoshimoto.   Due to heavy rain and fog, there was no qualifying in Fuji at first, for the starting grid the Super Taikyu organisers reverted to the points of the overall standings, so the KTM X-BOW team started from second place in the ST-1 class, accordingly also behind the GT3 cars grouped in the ST-X class. Despite slightly shorter stints than the direct competition, the team was able to maintain its position in the leading field right from the start, thanks to consistently fast lap times being decisive for this. After a trouble-free night, they already had a 10-lap lead over the first direct pursuer, and after making good tactical use of the one or other safety car period, the team was a full 23 laps ahead of the second-placed team when they crossed the finish line after 24 hours! "Incidentally", the "Syntium Apple" team also secured the sensational second place overall, leaving no less than five GT3 cars behind!   Not quite as successful, but still satisfactory, was the third appearance of the Felbermayr KTM X-BOW GTX at the Creventic 24 H Series in Hockenheim. The 12-hour race held there initially brought the clear lead in the SPX class after the first day of racing, but this was lost before the start of the second race section: a mandatory repair meant 10 penalty laps for the team with Horst Felbermayr, Eike Angermayr, Nicolai Elghanayan and Mads Siljehaug. In the end, however, the quartet was able to finish second in class and thus, after the victories in Mugello and Paul Ricard, also celebrate a podium finish in the third race of the season again. A second KTM X-BOW GTX, which was entered for the first time for the Dutch trio Nico Pronk, Peter Kox and Dennis Retera, unfortunately did not see the chequered flag.

24-HOUR RACE AT THE NÜRBURGRING: SEVEN KTM X-BOW CARS AT THE ENDURANCE CLASSIC!

Ver Perfil
  • No less than seven KTM X-BOWs to take on the season highlight at the Nürburgring
  • 4 KTM X-BOW GTX & 3 KTM X-BOW GT4 make up the fourth strongest class of the race
  • Competitive driver teams promise great sport in the battle for class and overall results
This upcoming weekend, the highlight of the season will take place at the Nürburgring: at the traditional 24-hour race, which will once again demand everything from the teams at its 49th edition, no less than seven KTM X-BOW teams will be starting this year - making KTM the fourth strongest class! Four new KTM X-BOW GTXs and three KTM X-BOW GT4s - all in EVO version - will take up the fight against the clock and the "Green Hell" and race for the respective class victory, but also for the best possible result in the overall standings. The preparatory races in the NLS and the qualifying race have already shown that they could be good for a surprise or two, with great results in each case.   Four cars will start under the Teichmann Racing entry: The KTM X-BOW GTX with the #112 will be driven by the strong international quartet Constantin Schöll (AUT) Andy Soucek (ESP) Peter Terting (DEU) and Dennis Trebing (USA). Driving the KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO are Georg Griesemann, Maik Rönnefarth, Tim Sandtler and Yves Volte (all DEU, #111); Dirk Adorf (DEU), Daniel Bohr (LUX), Timo Mölig (DEU), Felix von der Laden (DEU), #110; as well as "AIRGEE" (USA), Stephan Brodmerkel (DEU), Laura Kraihamer (AUT) and Karl-Heinz Teichmann (AUT), #60. By the way, the unusual starting number 60 has an extremely happy reason: Team boss Karl-Heinz Teichmann celebrates his 60th birthday (on Sunday) in a befitting manner by taking part in the 24-hour race! With the #115 and a KTM X-BOW GTX, team mcchip-dkr is preparing to conquer the title of "fastest KTM": The German driver combination of Christoph Breuer, Heiko Hammel, Tim Heinemann and "Dieter Schmidtmann" brings a lot of experience and speed with them. Two other KTM X-BOW GTXs will be entered by Reiter Engineering: Firstly, the #114 under the nomination of True Racing with the Austrian driver trio Reinhard Kofler, Ferdinand and Johannes Stuck. The other is the #75 with the German quartet Jens Dralle, Christian Menzel, Markus Oestreich and Tim Schrick. Here, too, the starting number has a good reason: the car will start under the name "auto motor und sport True Racing" and marks the highlight of the anniversary for the traditional car magazine, which was published for the first time 75 years ago.   "The founding publishers Josef Hummel, Paul Pietsch and Ernst Troeltsch were racing drivers themselves and Paul Pietsch, who would have turned 110 this year, celebrated some of his greatest successes at the Nürburgring. Our founders would certainly have enjoyed this commitment in such a revolutionary car under the banner of 'auto motor und sport'," says Bert Brandenburg, Member of the Executive Board and Head of Events & Corporate Publishing at Motor Presse Stuttgart.

SUCCESSFUL SEASON START FOR THE KTM JUNIORS: P7 & P13 AT ADAC GT4 GERMANY OSCHERSLEBEN RACES!

Ver Perfil
  • Leo Pichler and Leon Wassertheurer put a big exclamation mark on the season opener
  • The two 19-year-olds in 4th place in the Junior classification after the first race weekend
  • Strong team performance by razoon - more than racing at ADAC GT4 Germany premiere
Parallel to the Fanatec GT2 European Series race weekend at Hockenheim, where KTM Sportcar GmbH was on the grid with the KTM X-BOW GT2, two of the juniors supported by the manufacturer contested their debut races in the ADAC GT4 Germany at Oschersleben. In accordance with the organiser's regulations, 19-year-old Austrian Leo Pichler completed the first qualifying session on Saturday and put the KTM X-BOW GT4 from razoon - more than racing in a fantastic fifth place on the grid. Just six tenths separated the young student from Gabriele Piana in the BMW M4 GT4 at the top. "I didn't imagine qualifying to be so relaxed," said Pichler. "The competitors who weren't on a flying lap gave way fairly."   In the first race on Saturday afternoon, Pichler handed over the KTM X-BOW GT4 to his team-mate Leon Wassertheurer in a very good sixth place. The young German, 19 years old as well, was the second fastest driver in the field at one point and moved up to fourth overall, until the onset of rain put an abrupt end to his forward momentum. "It was my first time on slicks in mixed conditions. I didn't want to take any unnecessary risks," explained Wassertheurer after crossing the finish line. In the end, the duo with car number 14 finished the first race in an outstanding seventh place.   On the second race day, Leon Wassertheurer took over the qualifying work. After he had to prematurely abort his flying lap as a result of a brilliantly performed lunge of the X-BOW rear end, it was only enough for 15th place on the grid. In the same position, the German youngster headed for the pits halfway through the race, to hand over the cockpit to Leo Pichler. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding between the young professionals regarding the pit stop format, which was new to them, valuable seconds were lost. As a result, Pichler returned to the race in 18th place. After a strong recovery, the juniors finished the second race in a good 13th spot.   "The boys did a great job. We have exceeded the goals we set ourselves. It was not to be expected that we would be so good right from the start in this strong grid," team manager Dominik Olbert commented on the success in the opening race. "We can happily continue like this, even if we expect a bit of a hard time at the Red Bull Ring due to the long straights and our low top speed. But we are really looking forward to the two home races on 10th and 11th of June." The team is currently in a great fourth place in the ADAC GT4 Germany Junior standings, just two points behind the third-placed team.

GT2 EUROPEAN SERIES IN HOCKENHEIM: STRONG RACES & PODIUMS FOR THE KTM TEAMS!

  • Rupert Atzberger & Peter Kox break the Audi phalanx in the first race with 2nd place overall
  • In the AM classification the KTM teams secure five out of six possible podium places
  • Ulrich leads the AM overall ahead of Stuck/Rosenberger & Trunkenpolz/Angerhofer
The third and fourth rounds of the Fanatec GT2 European Series took place at the Hockenheimring in Germany in changeable weather conditions and therefore particularly difficult track conditions. At the traditional Motodrom in Baden, three KTM teams with no less than five KTM X-BOW GT2 race cars were once again on the grid in the Pro-AM and AM classes against strong competition from Audi, Lamborghini and Porsche.   The first race on Saturday morning was started as a "wet race", a great challenge for the teams, who had to let the AM drivers start in this first race in the case of Pro-AM pairings. Accordingly, the teams came through the first half of the race in different ways, which was characterised by numerous spins and close duels, but also by a safety car period. True Racing driver Sehdi Sarmini had lost control of his KTM X-BOW GT2 when braking on a wet spot and crashed hard into the concrete wall – fortunately, the driver remained completely uninjured. However, the weekend was over for Sarmini and his team mate Stefan Rosina, the car could not be repaired in the short time available.   On the other hand, the second Pro-AM pairing in a KTM X-BOW GT2 caused a sensation: Rupert Atzberger and Peter Kox (Team Reiter Engineering) worked their way to the front almost through the entire field after a spin by Atzberger and ended up with an outstanding second place overall and second place in the Pro-AM. In the AM classification, the KTM teams were able to score a lot of points for the overall standings, as they did in Monza: Hans-Joachim "Strietzel" Stuck and Kris Rosenberger secured second place despite a spectacular hit by a Lamborghini. Directly behind them, the Sportec Motorsport team crossed the finish line in third place, Christoph Ulrich was successful with new teammate Christoph Lenz. Hubert Trunkenpolz/Klaus Angerhofer (Team True Racing) also scored points and finished fourth.   The second race followed soon, more precisely on early Saturday afternoon. At noon it had rained again, so the teams had to start with rain tyres, but at the pit stops they changed to slicks due to the rapidly drying track. Once again, the duo Atzberger/Kox had the best chance of a top position in the overall standings, but they were robbed of all their chances by a questionable drive-through penalty. On the other hand, the KTM X-BOW GT2 AM teams were able to show off, having put themselves in a good position for the second half of the race with solid first halves and quick pit stops.     Racing legend "Strietzel" Stuck and his rally-proven teammate Kris Rosenberger drove an extremely strong race for Reiter Engineering, which was rewarded in the end with fourth place overall and victory in the AM classification. Once again, the Sportec team around Christoph Ulrich presented itself extremely fast, taking second place with namesake Christoph Lenz and thus securing Ulrichs lead in the overall AM standings. Third place went to the duo Hubert Trunkenpolz/Klaus Angerhofer, who now hold third place in the AM overall standings behind Ulrich and Stuck/Rosenberger.   Contrary to the original plans, the next round of the GT2 European Series will not be held at Silverstone, but will take the teams to Italy, more precisely to Misano, where the Fanatec GT World Challenge Sprint will be held from 2 to 4 June 2021.

PROMOTING YOUNG TALENTS WITH THE KTM X-BOW GT4: PROGRAMME WITH ADAC GT4 GERMANY, GTC RACE & NLS!

Ver Perfil
  • razoon - more than racing enters a KTM X-BOW GT4 for three young drivers in two series
  • Another young driver will contest the NLS at the Nürburgring with Teichmann Racing
  • Leo Pichler, Leon Wassertheurer, Rick Bouthoorn and Tamino Bergmeier to start on KTM
  • Gaining experience and respectable results are the top priorities of the programme
With the new KTM X-BOW GTX and KTM X-BOW GT2 models, KTM Sportcar GmbH offers a wide range of activity for gentleman drivers, semi-professionals and amateurs in various racing series, from the NLS ("Nürburgring Endurance Series", formerly VLN) to the Creventic 24 H Series or the GT2 European Series. At the same time, the KTM X-BOW GT4 continues to represent the perfect platform for committed young drivers to gain a foothold in national and international motorsport. KTM Sportcar GmbH is taking advantage of these ideal conditions to support a total of four young drivers who excelled expectations in the previous year. In the 2021 motorsport season they will race together with the teams from razoon - more than racing and Teichmann Racing respectively and their assignments will be divided between the ADAC GT4 Germany, the GTC Race and the NLS.   The most extensive programme is to be covered by razoon - more than racing. Team boss Dominik Olbert, who has already gained experience in the past with entries in the GT4 European Series, will be using his KTM X-BOW GT4 in the ADAC GT4 Germany as well as in the GTC Race for a total of three young drivers: "In the ADAC GT4 Germany we will be starting with Leo Pichler and Leon Wassertheurer, in the GTC Race we will be racing with Rick Bouthoorn. Thanks to our partners and sponsors, and thanks to the cooperation with the series organisers and KTM Sportcar GmbH, we want to offer the boys an optimal stage to recommend themselves for higher tasks. The job will be neither here nor there particularly easy, because the competition is extremely strong in both series. But we are well prepared after some good testing and are already looking forward to the first ADAC GT4 Germany race in Oschersleben on 15 and 16 May 2021!"   The two drivers in the ADAC GT4 Germany: 19-year-old Austrian Leo Pichler, who caused a sensation last year with a surprise victory in the X-BOW CUP EUROPE, and 19-year-old German Leon Wassertheurer, who claimed the runner-up title in his second X-BOW CUP EUROPE season in 2020. Leo Pichler on his rapid rise to international motorsport: "Our tests went very well, plus I've already driven two races this year in a TCR car to get into the swing of things, where I managed to take a class win. Of course, the ADAC GT4 Germany will be an insanely difficult task and a big challenge, but my objective is still clear - I want to be in the top three of the Junior classification." His teammate Leon Wassertheurer agrees: "I am convinced that we start the season well prepared. Of course, a steep learning curve will be necessary, but we will do everything to get the maximum out of it and to achieve one or the other respectable success."     In the GTC Race, on the other hand, the youngest of the bunch will be attacking, although he was also the most successful last year: Dutchman Rick Bouthoorn, who is only 17 years old, will enter the newly created GT4 class within the GTC Race as X-BOW CUP EUROPE Champion. On a total of five weekends, up-and-coming drivers in GT4 racing cars are given the chance to take win a participation in a GT3 car in the ADAC GT Masters in 2022. Bouthoorn is accordingly motivated: "I completed my first season in motor racing last year, before that I had only raced in karts. That worked out quite well, but I had to fight hard for the title in the X-BOW CUP EUROPE, my competitors were strong. This year will be no different, the entry list in the GTC Race shows that the competition will be fierce. But I'm not going to let that put me off, I'm going to go full throttle immediately and try to be at the front." The KTM X-BOW GT4 will also be entered there by razoon - more than racing, team boss Dominik Olbert would even have room for a second driver there: "The schedule of the GTC Race would allow for a second driver, this one would also have every chance of winning a GT3 season in 2022. We would be happy if we could get another young driver to join us in the GTC Race."   Last but not least, another youngster will compete in the NLS ("Nürburgring Endurance Series", formerly VLN) on a KTM X-BOW GT4: Tamino Bergmeier will complete the first races on the Permit B KTM X-BOW GT4 at Teichmann Racing and, after obtaining Permit A, will contest the entire NLS season. Only the 24-hour race will be skipped by last year's fourth-placed finisher in the X-BOW CUP EUROPE: "For me, the step into the NLS is an absolute dream. The Nürburgring Nordschleife is the most beautiful and difficult race track in the world and after my debut season I would then like to tackle the legendary 24-hour race in 2022." Team boss Michael Teichmann is delighted with the KTM youngster: "Promoting young talent is particularly important in difficult times and we are delighted to be able to do our bit together with KTM Sportcar GmbH."

2nd ROUND OF THE KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN: TOP-30-RESULTS AND A "RENTAL CAR” ON THE PODIUM!

Ver Perfil
  • 165 teams, more than 30 GT3 cars, yet two KTM X-BOW GTX in the top-30 overall
  • Thanks to McChip-DKR, Teichmann Racing can start after a serious practice crash
  • Timo Mölig, Daniel Bohr & Reinhard Kofler score full points for the Cup ranking
Just in time for the first of May, the Nürburgring Nordschleife presented itself in perfect weather conditions for the 165 teams who had submitted their entries for the third round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. The "62nd EIBACH ADAC ACAS Cup" also served many participants as a final preparation for this year's 24-hour race, with a correspondingly large number of teams in the SP9 GT3 class at the grid. However, the KTM X-BOW GTX and GT4 teams were not deterred by this and showed impressively that they’re ready for the upcoming season highlight, the 24-hour race.   In the GTX class, there was already some excitement before the official start of the event on Saturday morning: Namely, in Friday's track day, the KTM X-BOW GTX number 910 had crashed and it soon became apparent that it would not be possible to repair the car in time for Saturday's race. In an unprecedented move, team owner Danny Kubasik's McChip-DKR team, which was not at the start of this race, stepped in at short notice and provided their KTM X-BOW GTX "Kati M", which meant that the trio Timo Mölig/Daniel Bohr/Reinhard Kofler were able to compete after all.   With the "rental car" the team showed a great performance and scored full points for the "KTM X-BOW CUP powerd by KTM", after the fastest KTM X-BOW GTX of the weekend (with Reinhard Kofler, Johannes Stuck and Ferdinand Stuck at the wheel) is not eligible for points there. And the positions in the overall standings were also more than respectable in the end: Kofler/Stuck/Stuck ranked 24th overall as the best Cup car, directly followed by Mölig/Bohr/Kofler in 25th place, among the GT3 cars. No less sensational was the result of the best KTM X-BOW GT4: 32nd overall for Georg Griesemann/Maik Rönnefarth and Yves Volte, thus scoring full points in the GT4 classification of the "KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN". Markus Oestreich and Jens Dralle piloted the third KTM X-BOW GTX to 56th overall and third place in the GTX standings, while Stephan Brodmerkel/Michael Mönch/Kara Osman Ercan finished 86th overall. Last classified KTM X-BOW was right behind it, the Permit-B-GT4 of the trio Felix von der Laden/Tamino Bergmeier/Tim Sandtler in 87th place.   Unfortunately, the beautiful "MOTUL" KTM X-BOW GTX from Teichmann Racing did not finish at its premiere: The number 920 with the strong driver team of Hendrik Still, Constantin Schöll and Max Hofer was a strong competitor in the fight for victory in the "KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN" in practice, qualifying and race, but dropped out at the beginning of the last third of the race after a technical problem.

KTM X-BOW with innovative camera technology: Pure aerodynamic design without classic side mirrors!

  • aerodynamically optimized, also be approved for road traffic
  • the extremely wide field of view for superior side visibility
  • KTM’s technology partner for the CMS system is Kappa optronics GmbH
Instead of classic side mirrors, the new KTM X-Bow GTX rand GT2 rely on a latency-free camera monitor system (CMS). The high-tech system with two cameras and two screens on the right and the left of the vehicle respectively in the cockpit is aerodynamically optimized. This absolute latest technology is designed specifically for the requirements of race cars, but will also be approved for road traffic.   Whether in low sun, blinding headlights or darkness, the sophisticated sensor technology offers drivers outstanding performance in any racing situation. Particularly important for race cars: the extremely wide field of view for superior side visibility. Dispensing with classic side mirrors also enables an optimized aerodynamic design of the vehicle. On the race track, this is not just an aesthetic benefit, but a tough competitive advantage that can - hopefully - be measured in seconds. KTM’s technology partner for the CMS system is Kappa optronics, one of the world's most experienced suppliers of camera monitor systems as a successor to the classic side mirror focusing on hyper cars, luxury cars and sports cars. A high-tech German company, Kappa optronics delivers sophisticated, latency-free CMS technology, customizable design and reliable homologation for road traffic use. KTM has already upped the ante on super sports cars (X-BOW GTX and X-BOW GT2 Concept) with CMS technology from Kappa optronics, and enters the race for the first time this season with a CMS on the KTM X-Bow GT2.

STRONG START OF THE CUP ON THE NORDSCHLEIFE: TEAM MCCHIP-DKR WINS AND BREAKS INTO THE TOP 15!

  • The “KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN” was finally able to start the season
  • Strong first appearance of the new KTM X-BOW GTX in a field of 145 participants
  • Team McChip-DKR ("Dieter Schmidtmann", Heiko Hammel, Tim Heinemann) wins
The new KTM X-BOW GTX continues to cause sensations. With the weather finally playing along this weekend, the second round of the “Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie”, or NLS, could be held. No fewer than 147 teams were entered, 20 of them in the GT3 class SP9. The KTM Cup class "CupX" was well-staffed with seven cars, four entries were done for the new KTM X-BOW GTX, three entries were made for the proven KTM X-BOW GT4.   In the end, six KTM X-BOWs started the qualifying on Saturday morning, in which the True Racing KTM X-BOW GTX of Reinhard Kofler/Christian Menzel conquered the fastest lap of the CupX and 20th place overall with a time of 8:16.028 min. from Kofler. Just a bit further back, the Teichmann Racing KTM X-BOW GTX (Timo Mölig/Daniel Bohr/Reinhard Kofler) came in on 23rd place, followed by the KTM X-BOW GTX from McChip-DKR with "Dieter Schmidtmann", Heiko Hammel and Tim Heinemann on 28th place. The fastest KTM X-BOW GT4 was driven by Georg Griesemann/Maik Rönnefarth and Yves Volte in position 66, followed by Tamino Bergmeier/Mads Siljehaug/Felix von der Laden in position 68 and Stephan Brodmerkel/Karl-Heinz Teichmann/Michael Mönch in position 88.   In the 4-hour race, the new KTM X-BOW GTX with Kofler/Menzel, "Schmidtmann"/Hammel/Heinemann and Mölig/ Bohr/Kofler set a stunning pace right away and worked their way forward with strong lap times. Tim Heinemann sticked to Reinhard Kofler's heels, and when race control penalized the Austrian with a rather cruel stop-and-go penalty due to a premature start, the McChip-DKR KTM X-BOW GTX took the lead, which he didn’t give up anymore until the finish line. So, the crew around Danny Kubasik got a well-deserved victory in the KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN at their very first outing with the new car, at the same time the team from Mechernich took a sensational 15th place overall, even in front of a few GT3 Teams. In general, the GTX cars were strong: Christian Menzel brought the True Racing car to the finish line in 16th overall and the Teichmann GTX achieved a top 20 position with 18th place as well! The fastest KTM X-BOW GT4 from Teichmann Racing came home 32nd overall, so Georg Griesemann, Maik Rönnefarth and Yves Volte can took maximum points here. Stephan Brodmerkel, Karl-Heinz Teichmann and Michael Mönch took 75th place and also the Permit-B KTM X-BOW GT4 from Tamino Bergmeier, Mads Siljehaug and Felix von der Laden crossed the finish line in 114th place despite fighting some technical issues throughout the race.

FANATEC GT2 EUROPEAN SERIES OPENER IN MONZA: SPORTEC, REITER & TRUE RACING WITH PODIUM FINISHES!

  • High-speed cathedral Monza as tough opening test for the new GT2 racing series
  • The three KTM X-BOW GTX teams take several podium places in the two races
  • Swiss KTM X-BOW importer team Sportec with P2 & P1 best AM team of the event
The first race weekend of the all new Fanatec GT2 European Series is in the books – and the show put on by the teams with their super sports cars from Audi, Ferrari, KTM, Lamborghini and Porsche in the royal park of Monza was well worth to watch in both races, so the tough opening test can be described as extremely successful.   A close battle between the brands and teams was already apparent in qualifying on Friday afternoon, with the first ten drivers within less than two seconds in the first session. Best KTM driver was veteran Hans-Joachim "Strietzel" Stuck, who was able to put his Reiter Engineering KTM X-BOW GTX in fifth position on the grid, closely followed by Swiss Christoph Ulrich in the Sportec KTM X-BOW GTX. The best True Racing KTM X-BOW GTX was qualified by Klaus Angerhofer for grid position eight, while the two Pro-AM cars (Sehdi Sarmini for True Racing and Rupert Atzberger for Reiter Engineering) were unfortunately relegated to the last two grid positions due to a misunderstanding within the team, the pilots were at the wheel of their KTM X-BOW GTX in the wrong session in each case. The same was true for the second qualifying session, which meant that Peter Kox and Stefan Rosina found themselves at the end of the grid, although they would have taken first and second place in qualifying. Thus Kris Rosenberger for Reiter Engineering held second place on the grid, Adrian Spescha was right behind him in third place, while KTM board member Hubert Trunkenpolz took ninth place on the grid.   The premiere race on Saturday offered thrilling GT racing over a distance of 50 minutes, in which the KTM teams also fought for the podium places in both classifications. Best KTM X-BOW GTX was the True Racing pairing of Sehdi Sarmini/Stefan Rosina, who secured fifth place overall and third in the Pro-AM classification with a strong finish. The AM classification was particularly close. There, the Swiss pairing Christoph Ulrich/Adrian Spescha were the fastest KTM X-BOW GTX duo, closely followed by Hubert Trunkenpolz/Klaus Angerhofer, which meant that two of three KTM teams were on the podium in the AM classification. Hans-Joachim Stuck/Kris Rosenberger, on the other hand, were unable to turn their good grid position into a success after "Strietzel" spun off the track in spectacular fashion at the Variante Ascari shortly before the start of the pit stops, hitting the guard rail very lightly. Stuck managed to get the KTM X-BOW GTX back into the pits, but a broken tie rod marked the end of his and Rosenbergers race.     The second and final race of the weekend followed on Sunday morning - with excellent grid positions for the KTM X-BOW GTX from Reiter Engineering and Sportec: already qualified for second and third place on the grid, the two were able to start without any competitors in front of them after the pole sitter had to bring his Lamborghini into the pits with a technical problems even before the start. What followed was a KTM X-BOW GTX spectacle in a class of its own: Kris Rosenberger and Adrian Spescha engaged in a hard-fought duel on and off the track that lasted several laps and made the hearts of the Sportec and Reiter-Engineering team members stop several times. The duel was temporarily decided by a spectacular spin - once again at the exit of the "Variante Ascari" - by Spescha, who was able to miraculously catch his KTM X-BOW GTX and immediately bring it back under control without hitting anything. Rosenberger handed over to "Strietzel" Stuck at the mandatory pit stop, but the duo lost a lot of time there and fell far behind. Unfortunately, the three other X-BOW teams did not perform much better, albeit for different reasons. Sportec had minimally undercut the minimum pit stop time and was sanctioned with a Stop&Go penalty, while both True Racing cars were given a drive-through penalty for pitlane speeding. Unfortunately, this left the duo Sehdi Sarmini/Stefan Rosina in fifth place in the Pro-AM standings. Things looked better in the AM classification after 50 minutes of racing though: There, the Sportec team with Christoph Ulrich and Adrian Spescha led a KTM one-two-three ahead of Hans-Joachim Stuck/Kris Rosenberger (Reiter Engineering) and Hubert Trunkenpolz/Klaus Angerhofer (True Racing).   KTM board member Hubert Trunkenpolz was not completely satisfied with True Racing's results, but was very positive overall: "The start has been made, and extremely impressively so. We have seen spectacular racing with great cars in both classes. Together with SRO and Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche we have opened a new chapter in GT racing this weekend. Many thanks to Stephane Ratel and our competitors, I am convinced that the GT2 European Series will have a great future ahead."   The next round of the GT2 European Series will follow in less than a month, when the field of spectacular super sports cars will make its appearance at the next traditional race track, more precisely at the Motodrom of Hockenheim on 14th and 15th of May 2021.

LAUNCH OF THE GT2 EUROPEAN SERIES IN MONZA: FIVE KTM X-BOW GT2 STARTING INTO A NEW ERA!

  • Strong driver line-up for five brand new KTM X-BOW GT2 racing cars
  • Racing legend Hans Joachim "Strietzel" Stuck with a sensational comeback
  • Two races during the weekend on the high-speed circuit of Monza
The SRO is opening a new chapter in the history of GT racing this coming weekend (April 16-18, 2021): With the start of the “Fanatec GT2 European Series” in Monza, Italy, the battle of legendary supercars and their drivers for the Title is on. The spectacular racing cars come from Audi, Ferrari, KTM, Lamborghini and Porsche and will ensure a great spectacle on the high-speed circuit in the royal park of Monza. KTM Sportcar GmbH is the manufacturer with the most entrants, namely five in number. The cars are prepared by the teams of True Racing, Reiter Engineering and Sportec. But not only the carbon racers with more than 600 hp are spectacular, the driver pairings are also impressive.   In the AM category (two bronze drivers each), KTM board member Hubert Trunkenpolz and Klaus Angerhofer in the KTM X-BOW GT2 (#17) are entered, the two Austrians were formerly successful in the KTM one-make series X-BOW BATTLE and in various long-distance races. On the other hand, a real motorsport legend is making its racing comeback in the KTM X-BOW GT2 with the #24: Hans-Joachim "Strietzel" Stuck, two-time Le Mans winner, DTM champion and German racing icon, shares his cockpit with Austrian rally champion Kris Rosenberger, who was most recently successful with the KTM X-BOW GT4. A third car for the “AM” comes from Swiss X-BOW importer Sportec AG with its KTM X-BOW GT2 (#7) for the Swiss driver pairing Christoph Ulrich and Adrian Spescha.   In the Pro-Am category (driver pairing of one bronze and one silver driver) there is Austrian Sehdi Sarmini with Slovak Stefan Rosina (KTM X-BOW GT2, #16), as well as Bavarian Rupert Atzberger with Dutchman Peter Kox (KTM X-BOW GT2, #23) on the way. While Sehdi Sarmini gained experience in KTM's own one-make series X-BOW BATTLE as well as in some endurance races, Rupert Atzberger used to be in Porsche Clubsport. Their prominent co-drivers, on the other hand, were extremely successful in the Porsche Supercup (Rosina) and in international GT1 and GT3 racing (Kox).   KTM board member Hubert Trunkenpolz: “It’s a great pleasure for us to be playing an important role at the start of the new Fanatec GT2 European Series as a manufacturer. It is gratifying that we are nominally the strongest brand with five cars entered. But I'm even more happy about the great driver pairings that our team and our customer teams can offer. The fact that Strietzel Stuck has placed his trust in us for his racing comeback is an absolute highlight in itself. Now we are doing everything we can to ensure that we’ll be able to fight for the podium places and for victory in both categories in Monza!”

KTM X-BOW GTX HAT TRICK ON THE RED BULL RING: DOUBLE VICTORY IN TCM & VICTORY IN THE HOUR RACE!

Ver Perfil
  • At its debut on home soil in Spielberg, the brand new KTM X-BOW GTX won the hat trick
  • Rupert Atzberger clinches the victory in both TCM races despite very strong competition
  • Even in the Endurance race the competitors had no chance against Atzberger & Peter Kox
The Austrian premiere of the KTM X-BOW GTX on its home track in Spielberg, Styria, could not have gone better: In all three races, in which the new Austrian super sports car competed, it was also driven to victory by its drivers – the competition had no chance against the carbon racer.   The TCM ("Touring Car Masters Austria") started the new season with an excellent grid. As part of the Histo-Cup, the first race weekend of the year was held at the Red Bull Ring in Styria. 18 GT and touring cars started the 10-lap race on Saturday, which was characterized by the duel between Rupert Atzberger (KTM X-BOW GTX) and Georg Karner (Porsche 911 GT3 Cup). In the end, Atzberger had the better end for himself, winning his very first race with the new car. On Sunday, the Porsche squad seeked for revenge, but even if Rupert Atzberger had to hand over the lead to Georg Karner, he finally prevailed again in the end.   On Sunday noon, the one-hour “Ravenol Endurance Race” took place, and for this the man from Bavaria had brought prominent reinforcements from the Netherlands: Nobody less than Peter Kox took turns with Atzberger at the wheel – and in the end, the duo was unsurprisingly able to finish the third race with the new car at the top of the podium after one hour of racing.   Rupert Atzberger was accordingly satisfied: “An impeccable race weekend that was great fun. The KTM X-BOW GTX is simply the perfect car for a gentleman driver!” His “co-driver” Peter Kox confirmed this: “The KTM X-BOW GTX has turned out to be a great car. It is playfully easy to drive, with enough power and top speed! Rupert was great on the way, all I had to do was cross the finish line. Although the safety car caused some confusion, but luckily that didn’t irritate me!"   So far, the KTM X-BOW GTX has taken overall or class victory at all racing events in which it competed. An impressive record that not only proves the speed but also, above all, the reliability of the new car.

FELBERMAYR KTM X-BOW GTX VICTORIOUS IN MUGELLO: CLASS WIN AT ITS ENDURANCE RACE DEBUT IN EUROPE!

Ver Perfil
  • The KTM X-BOW GTX takes the class win in its first long-distance race in Europe as well
  • Moreover, it scores a top-ten overall result in the 12-hour race of the Creventic 24 H Series
  • Horst Felbermayr, Eike Angermayr, Nicolai Elghanayan & Mads Siljehaug going strong
After its great success in the Japanese Super Taikyu Series - class victory in its first international race in the Motegi five-hour event - the new KTM X-BOW GTX is also victorious in its second major race, this time over the distance of 12 hours: In the first European race of the Creventic 24 H Series, the Felbermayr KTM X-BOW GTX with its crew Horst Felbermayr, Eike Angermayr, Nicolai Elghanayan and Mads Siljehaug won the GTX class and was able to achieve an excellent tenth place overall.   Although, the racing weekend on the demanding but beautiful Italian track did not start well: On Wednesday and Thursday, the KTM X-BOW GTX had one unplanned "meeting" with the trackside walls each, whereupon the team from Reiter Engineering hat to get the lightweight super sports ready to drive again twice. Thanks to its modular design, this was done quick and easy. From this point on, the car in the traditional Felbermayr colors ran like a clockwork. After 15th place in qualifying, the car and the drivers were able to shine in the first part of the race on Friday afternoon, most of the time in a three-way battle with two Lamborghini Huracan Supertrofeo cars and even taking over the overall lead at some point. On Saturday, as Horst Felbermayr had already announced as the geoal before the race - the focus was on gaining experience with the new KTM X-BOW GTX. This requirement was met flawlessly by all those involved.   The team boss responsible for the mission, Hans Reiter, was accordingly enthusiastic at the finish: “We received the car right before the race, directly from the factory in Graz, so to speak. We were only able to install the loggers, position lights and necessary systems; there was no time for a roll-out. And then the car - apart from the two mishaps and the necessary repairs - drove without a single problem from Wednesday morning to Saturday evening. We didn't do anything other than refueling and changing tires. And of course it was especially nice to watch when Horst fought with the two Lamborghinis on Friday. That clearly shows how well the KTM X-BOW GTX works in long-distance races." Horst Felbermayr, who drove both the opening and the final stint, was also extremely satisfied: “We had hoped that we wouldn’t just cover the distance, but that we also get a good result. This tenth place overall and the dominant victory in the GTX class is of course more than satisfying for our debut with this car. I just got out, but I can hardly wait for the next race to start!”

FIRST RACE, FIRST SUCCESS IN JAPAN: KTM X-BOW GTX WINS IN THE SUPER TAIKYU!

  • At its premiere in Japan, the new KTM X-BOW GTX took class victory straight away
  • "KTM Cars Japan" and the "Syntium Apple" team shine in the Super Taikyu series
  • Despite rain and premature abortion of the race, the Motegi 5-hour race was a success
Shortly after its racetrack debut, the new KTM X-BOW GTX also achieved its first international success. Under direction of Japanese KTM X-BOW importer “KTM Cars Japan”, the “Syntium Apple” team took its first class win with the Austrian super sports car at the season opener of the Super Taikyu racing series.   In addition to the “Super GT” racing series, which is mainly held in a sprint format, the Super Taikyu series is Japan's most popular endurance racing series. It has been an integral part of the Japanese and Asian motorsport landscape since 1991, and top international teams as well as international drivers are frequent guests. It’s run on well-known Japanese race tracks such as Suzuka, Fuji, Motegi or Sugo, up to 80 teams are fighting for points and victories in different classes.   The "Syntium Apple" team is a fixture in Japanese racing and has been present in the top class "SuperGT" for many years. Since 2018, the team – directly connected to the official KTM X-BOW importer “KTM Cars Japan – was racing with a KTM X-BOW. In 2018, 2019 and 2020 they’ve been successful with the GT4 model, now the team made its debut with the new KTM X-BOW GTX. It was also the international racing premiere for the latest product of the KTM Sportcar GmbH which is built in Graz, Styria.   In the five-hour race at the TwinRing Motegi, the first race of the Super Taikyu season in 2021, the driver trio Kazuho Takahashi, Hiroki Katoh and Taiyou Iida not only secured pole position in the ST-1 class right behind the GT3 cars, but also a class victory and a ninth place overall in a very difficult race due to the pouring rain. It goes without saying the team was extremely happy, although they’re already preparing themselves for the second race of the season, which will take place on April 17th and 18th on the Sportsland Sugo race track.

LEGENDARY FELBERMAYR COLORS ARE BACK: INTERNATIONAL TOP TEAM STARTING IN THE 24 H SERIES!

Ver Perfil
  • The legendary Felbermayr colors return in the 2021 season with a KTM X-BOW GTX
  • Reiter Engineering enters the car in selected Creventic 24 H Series endurance races
  • Horst Felbermayr, Eike Angermayr, Nicolai Elghanayan & Mads Siljehaug as pilots
With the new KTM X-BOW GTX making its first appearances, the legendary Felbermayr colors are returning to international racing as well. And in contrast to their past commitment in the ADAC GT4 Germany, which ended with the title win by driver pairing Eike Angermayr/Mads Siljehaug in 2019, the brand new, blue and yellow racing car will now compete in endurance racing again, like when Felbermayr was involved in the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours race for many years.   The fact that Horst Felbermayr, the boss himself, is also there as a driver, is particularly gratifying. He’s switching from the previously driven GT3 class to the newly created GTX class. The Upper Austrian entrepreneur will share his cockpit with three extremely interesting drivers: Firstly, there’s Felbermayr's Upper Austrian compatriot Eike Angermayr, who grew up in KTM's X-BOW BATTLE and won the ADAC GT4 Germany title in 2019. With Nicolai Elghanayan, a driver from the US is on board who was victorious in the GT4 America series with the KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO. The team is completed by Norwegian Mads Siljehaug, who has already won races (and titles) with both of the drivers listed above: with Angermayr in the ADAC GT4 Germany, with Elghanayan in the GT4 America series.   The quartet will make their first appearance this week at the 12-hour race of the Creventic 24 H Series in Mugello, where competition will be extremely tough: More than 50 teams have submitted their entries, making it the first major endurance race in Europe this season. Even if the KTM X-BOW GTX has already proven its potential several times, Horst Felbermayr is cautious: “We have not yet competed in this setting, and it’s the first long-distance race with the completely new car. Our priority is getting to the finish line so that we can collect as much data and experience as possible." Team boss Hans Reiter, who’s responsible for the mission, adds: "I am really happy that we have a strong partner in Horst Felbermayr for selected races in the Creventic 24 H Series. The driver pairing is extremely well-balanced and I am sure that it has potential for one or the other surprise. We can hardly wait until it finally starts!"

TRUE RACING WITH TWO KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO: KTM STRONGLY REPRESENTED IN THE 2021 DTM TROPHY!

  • KTM works drivers Laura Kraihamer and Reinhard Kofler will be behind the wheels
  • Both KTM X-BOW GT4 run by German team Reiter Engineering are EVO versions
  • The drivers are targeting the fight for podium positions, victories and championship title
The DTM Trophy season will start with the opening race on the legendary high-speed track in Monza in mid-June, but there’s already good news for all the fans of the KTM X-BOW GT4: Entered as “True Racing" cars, Reiter Engineering will run two cars for the entire DTM Trophy season. KTM works drivers Laura Kraihamer and Reinhard Kofler will each take their seats at the wheel of an EVO version of the lightweight super sports car from Austria.   The ambitions of the German-Austrian team are clearly high. In addition to individual successes, they also want to be at the top of the overall standings, as team boss Hans Reiter confirms, explaining the entry in the DTM Trophy: “DTM is currently repositioning itself and offers an extremely interesting environment for GT racing teams like us. In addition, everything looks like the DTM Trophy will be extremely competitive in the 2021 season. KTM Sportcar GmbH, True Racing and Reiter Engineering are always looking for challenges. Accordingly, we are also very happy to accept this one and we’ll do everything in our power to be as good as possible in the overall standings both in the individual races and throughout the year."   Meanwhile, both True Racing drivers are very happy, too. Laura Kraihamer says: “My motorsport year 2020 was a bit clumsy. Due to the development of our new KTM X-BOW GTX, I did a lot of testing, but couldn't contest in an entire championship. So I'm all the more delighted that I’m able to attack in the DTM Trophy in 2021. The entries that are known so far suggest a nominally and qualitatively strong grid – my motivation is huge. I can hardly wait until the first race weekend in Monza." Kraihamer's team-mate Reinhard Kofler sees things very similarly: "Last year was very special due to Corona and it was a bit unfortunate for me at times. For that reason alone, the anticipation of the DTM Trophy races is huge. Last year I was able to contest a fairly successful race weekend there and I must say the series is extremely professional and it will definitely be an intense, exciting season!"

GT WINTER SERIES PREMIERE FOR THE KTM X-BOW GTX

  • Extremely successful "roll-out" of the KTM X-BOW GTX from Teichmann Racing
  • Hendrik Still takes two podiums within the GT Winter Series in Portimao
  • Teichmann Racing driver Georg Griesemann leads the overall standings
Despite the current restrictions, 25 sports prototypes, GT racing and touring cars were on the grid for the first round of the GT Winter Series in Portimão, Portugal. Two races were held on the spectacular “Autódromo Internacional do Algarve”, but the weather was not particularly “southern”, on the contrary: It was cold and there was also some rain. For Teichmann Racing it was the first meters with the brand new KTM X-BOW GTX, which was one of the first teams in the world to be provided with the car. The drivers Hendrik Still, Peter Terting and KTM works driver Laura Kraihamer completed the roll-out and had already collected several test and set-up kilometers, before Hendrik Still contested the two races. In the first race, the ideal line dried up right before the start and Still finished the race debut of the KTM X-BOW GTX with an impressive second place overall, only beaten by Axcil Jefferies in a Ligier LMP3, but ahead of all GT3 competitors. The second car from Teichmann Racing, a KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO, which is planned for the CupX series within the NLS this year, was able to prove its potential with Georg Griesemann at the wheel: The car had previously been on a suspension simulator and with the completely new set-up generated out of this, Griesemann was able to leave more powerful competitors behind to finish in fifth place overall. In the second race, Still struggled a little bit in the KTM X-BOW GTX as the track dried up only during the race, which did not particularly suit the set-up of the car. In the end, finishing third overall, he nevertheless secured the second podium at the premiere of the KTM X-BOW GTX, while Georg Grieseman, after a long duel with a Porsche driver, once again captured class victory and an excellent sixth place overall. The NLS driver now has the overall lead in the GT Winter Series points classification. Team boss Michael Teichmann was correspondingly satisfied: “The new racing year started off well. In this context, we would like to thank Markus Gedlich and his team, who organize and run the GT Winter Series despite difficult circumstances. For us it was the first few meters with a completely new, unknown car, and yet the KTM X-BOW GTX did outstandingly well. Of course, there is still a lot of room for improvement if we can spend a long time working with the vehicle. The great result of Georg and the KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO is particularly pleasing, as we are expecting to be even better prepared and more powerful in the upcoming NLS season!" The German team "Laptime Performance" was also on the grid and was able to complete it’s first successful kilometers with its brand new KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO, driven by David Assfalg and Ulrich Ziegler.

Experienced interested parties can of course also do their KTM X-BOW racing car test within the "Race" sessions, a total of 300 minutes of track time is available here! Of course - as it’s now common practice on nearly every track day - noise regulations must be observed, but the limits are very generous: on April 8th the limit is 123 db, on May 25th it is 132 db and in autumn it is 123 db (September 7th), 132 db (September 8th) respectively 123 db (October 28th). The track days are also extremely attractive in terms of pricing: Entering a car in the “Race” category (300 min.) is EUR 1,390,- (net), for racing teams participating with a KTM X-BOW RR, GT4, GTX or GT2 the entry fee is only EUR 1,190,- (net). Participants in the “Discover X-BOW” group have to pay EUR 490,- (net) for the whole day (5 stints of 25 minutes each) with their own (street-legal) KTM X-BOW, but of course interested parties can also rent a KTM X-BOW R directly at KTM: The "Arrive and Drive" package costs EUR 490,- (net) per stint (25 minutes track time), a full day (5 stints of 25 minutes) cost EUR 1,990 (net)! FOUR KTM X-BOW GT2 FOR THE "GT2 EUROPEAN SERIES": TRUE-RACING & REITER ENGINEERING FIX THE 2021 SEASON!

Ver Perfil
  • True Racing & Reiter Engineering are fixing the 2021 season before the end of the year
  • This means that at least four KTM X-BOW GT2s will compete in the “GT2 European Series”
  • Customer racing is the focus, at least two AM driver pairings are planned for the season
Before the most quiet time of the year begins, True Racing and Reiter Engineering are going full throttle: With the announcement that they will be putting at least four brand new KTM X-BOW GT2 racing cars on the grid of the GT2 European Series premiere season for customers, the Upper Austrian/Bavarian team sends out a strong message regarding the latest SRO invented racing series of organizer Stéphane Ratel, which will be held on a total of five racing weekends in 2021. For the races in Monza, Hockenheim, Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps and Paul Ricard, the four vehicles will be manned by Pro-AM or pure AM driver pairs. Reiter Engineering Team Principal Hans Reiter: “Since KTM's final announcement that the new KTM X-BOW GT2 will be the perfect racing car for the upcoming GT2 European Series, we have received numerous inquiries from customers, which are extremely motivated to get involved in an attractive racing series as a vehicle owner and, of course, as a driver. We are very satisfied with being able to announce that we will have no fewer than four vehicles under the name True Racing powered by Reiter Engineering. This is the proof that Stéphane Ratel and the SRO have recognized the wishes of numerous gentleman drivers for an attractive field of activity and that they have implemented it perfectly in the form of the GT2 European Series.“ True Racing team founder and KTM board member Hubert Trunkenpolz, who will take a spot behind the wheel himself in one of the four vehicles, is delighted with the response: “As an enthusiastic gentleman racer, I am pleased to see that the SRO concept is working and there is already great interest in the new GT2 racing series. The fact that we as True Racing together with Hans Reiter and his Reiter Engineering team can already confirm four vehicles at this early stage is an impressive proof of this." Dates GT2 European Series 2021: 15th to 17th of April:      Monza 14th to 15th of May:      Hockenheim 25th to 27th of June:     Silverstone 500 23rd to 25th of July:      Spa Francorchamps 01st to 03rd of October: Paul Ricard

Successful SOP & simultaneous milestone

KTM Sportcar GmbH rolls the first series manufacture KTM X-BOW GTX off the production in the presence of Stefan Pierer and Hubert Trunkenpolz. "Following conception, development, and testing all completed in record time, and thanks to the tireless efforts of KTM Sportcar GmbH's development team, and that of development partner Reiter Engineering, the partners have celebrated the first KTM X-BOW GTX rolling off the series production line. In attendance for this occasion was KTM CEO Stefan Pierer and KTM CMO Hubert Trunkenpolz. The full-carbon vehicle, which will also be available as a 600hp GT2 version for the GT2 European Series, is already a real GTX milestone. The tried and true carbon-monocoque now includes a homologated GT roll cage and a competition motor racing seat from Recaro. The sports car is driven by the legendary five-cylinder Audi motor, which, in the GTX version, weighs in at only 1,050 kg and achieves 530 hp. Numerous other technological innovations, such as electrical switching, electrical steering, digital fuse boxes, rearview mirror camera systems, or display steering wheels, all underline that the new KTM X-BOW GTX is "Ready to Race".

KTM SPORTCAR GMBH PRESENTS KTM X-BOW GT2 CONCEPT: 24 HOURS OF SPA AS KICK-OFF FOR THE NEW GT2 RACE SERIES!

Ver Perfil
  • The KTM X-BOW GT2 CONCEPT was launched in Spa together with the SRO
  • Stéphane Ratel's press conference gave an outlook to the new GT2 racing series
  • After homologation, KTM becomes third manufacturer alongside Audi and Porsche
As part of the traditional 24-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps, two press conferences were held in the legendary "Hotel De L'eau Rouge Drivers Club": On the one hand, KTM Sportcar GmbH together with development partner Reiter Engineering and SRO boss Stéphane Ratel presented the new KTM X-BOW GT2 CONCEPT, on the other hand, Ratel explained his plans for a new, strong GT2 racing series just a few hours later at the traditional SRO annual press conference. At the press conference of KTM Sportcar GmbH, the KTM X-BOW GT2 CONCEPT was unveiled, which will be homologated as a GT2 vehicle from the 2021 racing season. The homologation process is currently underway for the full carbon racing car, which weighs just 1,045 kilograms and will be a GT2 with around 600 hp from its five-cylinder Audi engine. Hans Reiter, CEO of Reiter Engineering, together with Manfred Wolf, Head of PR & Customer Racing at KTM Sportcar GmbH, explained the technical highlights and details of the vehicle: “Thanks to the KTM board, especially thanks to Stefan Pierer and Hubert Trunkenpolz, together with the colleagues at KTM Sportcar GmbH we’ve been able to develop a revolutionary, future-oriented racing vehicle. In this context, the slogan 'Future is now' is not just a marketing slogan, it rather describes that KTM has brought what is probably the safest, most efficient and most spectacular racing car on the market today. We are very proud of that achievement and we can hardly wait for the 2021 racing season.” Stéphane Ratel was enthusiastic about the KTM X-BOW GT2 CONCEPT: “I am very happy that KTM and Reiter Engineering have committed to our new GT2 platform. Hans Reiter was a founding member of GT1 and GT3, while both KTM and Hans were present from the beginning of the GT4 concept. It therefore seems appropriate that a new chapter is added to their story with the launch of a GT2 model. I am pleased to say that plans are already in place to begin next year with a five-round GT2 European Series, which will form part of our GT Sports Club program. I am sure that it will be a great success and wish to thank KTM and Reiter Engineering for their continued support.” Therefore, the already existing “GT SPORTS CLUB” is being restructured and divided into the “GT2 European Series”, the “GT Rebellion” endurance series and the “GT1 Sports Club”. In addition, at the first race weekend in Monza, there will be invitation races for old GT3 racing vehicles of Generation 1 (2006 to 2009) and Generation 2 (2009 to 2013), which the SRO expects to be very popular.

ENTHRALLING SEASON FINISH AT RED BULL RING: KRIS ROSENBERGER TAKES DOUBLE WIN!

“BOB BAU” ELITE-CHAMP, RICK BOUTHOORN CUP WINNER!
  • Two enthralling X-BOW races at Red Bull Ring to wrap up the season
  • Kris Rosenberger once again dominates the overall standings and the GT4 class
  • “BOB BAU” prevails over Christian Schäfer in an Elite class Grand Final
  • Rick Bouthoorn is X-BOW CUP EUROPE champion after a hard-fought battle
A difficult motorsport year for the X-BOW BATTLE wrapped up in conciliatory style at the competition’s home circuit, the Red Bull Ring. Georg Silbermayr welcomed 18 starters in three classes, the GT4, Elite, and X-BOW CUP EUROPE. Race One Ex-Champion Holger Baumgartner managed to secure quite an impressive pole position in the first race. He was clearly the fastest driver and also the best in the Elite class. Behind him at a respectable distance was rally sport ace Kris Rosenberger, the double winner at the previous event, and on the day, the best GT4 class driver. In the X-BOW CUP Europe stakes, the young Austrian Jan Rihs and the Dutch driver Rick Bouthoorn were 1-2 on the grid. The race got away almost without problems on Saturday, although Holger Baumgartner had a slight touch in the first lap and had to relinquish the lead. Kris Rosenberger used the opportunity to break away, while behind him, Elite class drivers Georg Silbermayr, Christian Schäfer, and BOB BAU fought it out for every tenth of a second. Schäfer, who was already impressive in the last Red Bull Ring races, prevailed in the final stages, closing in on Rosenberger, who this time went on to secure the overall victory and the win in the GT4 class. Schäfer picked up maximum elite points, Silbermayr was second, and BOB BAU third. Fourth place went to Christoph Doppler, who returned to the competition after a long absence. Behind him, it was the Swiss driver Schweizer Martin Koch in the KTM X-BOW GT4 who was next across the finishing line to be second in the GT4 class, while his wife Angela Koch was third in this class (overall 14th). It was, however, the X-BOW CUP EUROPE that saw the toughest battle for wins and points, with Jan Rihs and Rick Bouthoorn fighting it out for the victory. Things heated up in the final lap, and the race stewards handed down a 30-second penalty to the winner Jan Rihs. He dropped back in the rankings and lost valuable championship points in the process. Rick Bouthoorn picked up the maximum points, Tamino Bergmeier was second place with a strong performance, newcomer Leo Pichler was a sensational third. Leon Wassertheurer had to fight his way through to his fourth place. Like Bouthoorn and Bergmeier, he kept his championship chances alive, all to be decided in the second race. Newcomers also delivered great races. Denis Liebl was fifth, and ski star Conny Hütter was a great sixth. Race Two The starting grid looked identical to the first race results. It created a particular challenge for one or another driver, like Holger Baumgartner and Daniel Drexel, who had not managed to finish the first race. It was also tough for Jan Rihs after his time penalty in race one, and for Tamino Bergmeier, Leon Wassertheurer, and points leader Rick Bouthoorn who wanted to fight for the X-BOW CUP EUROPE title. There was also a fight for the title in the Elite class between reigning champion BOB BAU and newcomer Christian Schäfer. All this failed to impress Kris Rosenberger. The motorsport multi-talent attacked the second race from the pole position, and as in the first race, he successfully repelled all challenges, also one from Holger Baumgartner right at the end of the race. He finished a double winner at the Red Bull Ring for the second race weekend. Second and third places in the GT4 class again went to the Swiss couple Martin and Angela Koch. Holger Baumgartner, as overall second, won the Elite class. Holger Baumgartner, as overall second, won the Elite class. For him, it was some end-of-season compensation because he was put out of three races at no fault of his own. The class title fight finally went to TrenCar-Racing regular BOB BAU after a very tough duel with Christian Schäfer. He won by a margin of seven points. Schäfer, however, can be satisfied with the vice championship title because the CCS-Racing driver delivered a great debut season. Last but not least, the hardest fight was for the title of the X-BOW CUP EUROPE between equally fast and talented youngsters. The young Dutch driver Rick Bouthoorn celebrated his worthy overall win by finishing second behind super talent and one-time starter Leo Pichler. But although the points advantage over his opponents might seem relatively large, how the season played out was not that clear. Second-placed German Leon Wassertheurer, Austrian Jan Rihs in third, and Germany’s Tamino Bergmeier at fourth all showed convincing speed and talent on every race weekend. Daniel Drexel was at times also on a par with the four fastest, and if race winner Leo Pichler had competed in more races other than the season final at the Red Bull Ring, it could have been a five-way fight for the title. Ski ace Conny Hütter had a lot of bad luck in the final when her car sustained damage to the drive shaft just as she was competing for a top result. She nevertheless proved that she is not only fast on skis but also behind the steering wheel.

OFFICIALWORLD PREMIERE OF THE KTM X-BOW GTX:FIRSTGLANCE OF THE BRAND-NEW CARBON RACING CAR!

Ver Perfil
  • Unique, spectacular design meets the most modern technological solutions
  • Ground-breaking safety thanks to the combination of carbon monocoque and GT roll cage
  • Sensational power to weight ratio of 1.98 kg through 1,048 kilograms and 530 hp
  • Legendary Audi five-cylinder combines maximum performance and attractive downsizing
The new KTM X-BOW GTX is officially unveiled. The full carbon fibre racing car from KTM Sportcar GmbH impresses with its unique, spectacular design, which - like the original model of the KTM X-BOW, which has been on the market since 2008 - it owes to the designers at KISKA. In close cooperation with the aerodynamic specialists and technicians of development partner Reiter Engineering, a breath taking, aerodynamically perfect and technologically revolutionary racing car with a ground-breaking safety concept was created, which is just as ideal for track days as it is for professional use in racing. There and there, the new KTM X-BOW GTX will definitely be the most spectacular, beautiful and technologically advanced vehicle, KTM board member Hubert Trunkenpolz is convinced: “Together with Hans Reiter and his development team, our engineers have set a new standard for full carbon racing cars with the KTM X-BOW GTX. Our new car is not only beautiful, it is trendsetting in all areas. Especially in terms of safety, efficiency and detailed technological solutions, we see a real revolution, apart from the design and the incredible manufacturing quality of the carbon fibre chassis." Above all, the safety concept of the KTM X-BOW GTX sets new standards: It combines the tried and tested carbon fibre monocoque of the KTM X-BOW, the basic concept of which is based on a Formula 3 monocoque, with the safety of a full-fledged roll cage, GT homologated according to FIA Appendix J. In addition, the driver sits in a Recaro competition seat, developed according to "Advanced Seat" criteria. KTM Sportcar GmbH Managing Director Michael Wölfling: “With the new KTM X-BOW GTX, we are targeting ambitious track day pilots as well as semi-professional and professional racing drivers. In addition to the desire for the fastest lap time, the desire for the greatest possible safety is always at the top of the priority list for all pilots. With the KTM X-BOW GTX we can combine these two wishes in the best possible way.” For maximum performance, the KTM X-BOW GTX, which weighs only 1,048 kilograms, is powered by the ultra-modern 2.5 litre five-cylinder turbo engine from Audi, developing 530 hp. This reduces the power-to-weight ratio to less than 2.0 kilograms (1.98 to be exact) and offers the greatest possible efficiency thanks to the lowest possible fuel consumption. In conjunction with the 120 litre FT3 safety tank, the KTM X-BOW GTX drives further respectively longer than the competition on every track day, but also on every long-distance race, and the low weight naturally also reduces wear and tear and thus the running costs significantly. You can find a detailed overview of the complete technical highlights of the KTM X-BOW GTX (available from 230,000 EUR net) below. Presse-Kontakt für Rückfragen: Manfred Wolf

manfred.wolf@ktm.com   Carbon monocoque:
The survival cell of the KTM X-BOW which has been tried and tested a dozen times since 2008 and has been built more than 1,300 times is extremely stiff and safe but weighs just around 80 kilograms. GT rollcage:
Newly designed and homologated according to FIA Appendix J, the GT roll cage withstands the multiple weight of the vehicle in the rollover pressure test and now also has side struts in the monocoque as well as a full cross behind the driver's seat. Competition seat:
Together with partner Recaro, KTM has developed a competition seat made out of carbon-kevlar, which, in combination with the GT rollcage and carbon monocoque, establishes the extremely high safety standard of the KTM X-BOW GTX. Thanks to individually adaptable paddings, the shell is adaptable to every driver, and a homologated six-point racing harness from Schroth is standard as well. Canopy:
The spectacular "Jetfighter Canopy" of the KTM X-BOW GT4 will also cause a stir on the KTM X-BOW GTX. However, the design has been completely revised, the formerly one-piece ‘Plexiglass’ canopy is being replaced by a carbon frame with an inserted windshield and separately opening glass doors on both sides, whereby the complete canopy can of course still be opened for entry and exit. The front screen is made of Makrolon and can be replaced quickly and cheaply if it is worn. Steering wheel:
The suede racing steering wheel of the KTM X-BOW GTX is completely new in terms of looks, feel and ergonomics and has an integrated display that always keeps the most important information in the driver's field of vision. Every single important control element is located in the central part, made out of carbon fibre. Of course, the steering column and thus the position of the steering wheel can still be adjusted in height and depth. Pedal box:
Together with the – in this vehicle segment rather unusually – variable adjustment of the steering wheel, the KTM X-BOW GTX also has the tried-and-tested pedal box, which can be adjusted by around 30 centimetres, and which, especially in long-distance races, allows adaptation to drivers of different sizes in the matter of seconds. Electric power steering:
The electric power steering replaces the hydraulic power steering previously used in the KTM X-BOW GT4 and offers several advantages. It is completely programmable in the development phase, in the end the customers can look forward to at least three different set-up variants, which can be selected accordingly to the preferences and needs of the driver. The electric power steering also saves weight. Electric gear shifter:
LMP technology in the KTM X-BOW GTX: Le Mans prototypes have been using electrically operated gear shifters for quite a time now, but the technology has been too expensive for widespread use so far. SaReNi, a technology service provider from the Reiter-Engineering environment, has now developed such a gear shift for the new lightweight super sports car from KTM. The shifting operations are even more precise (the gears are always switched at the right connection speed), the material (especially gears and shafts) is preserved, and around seven kilograms of weight are saved by eliminating the hydraulic compressor, pressure accumulator and lines. In addition, the design is highly integrated, with oil pump, oil filter and oil-water heat exchanger located directly in the gearbox housing. Camera rear view mirror system:
Instead of classic side mirrors, the new KTM X-BOW GTX relies on a high-tech system with two cameras and two screens on the right and left of the vehicle and in the cockpit. This absolute latest technology should even be approved for road traffic. 120 litre tank:
Thanks to its 120 litre capacity, the FT3 safety tank is prepared for all requirements. Equipped with a VLN (NLS) valve as standard, the tank can also be converted with a quick refuelling option on the left, the right, or on both sides of the car. Interior ventilation:
Air routing and ventilation have been revised, the air outlets are also new and repositioned. Thanks to the higher air output and a stronger fan, the cockpit is significantly more effectively ventilated, and the ventilation of the windshield has also been improved. Traction control and racing ABS:
Both traction control and racing ABS can be set manually. The eight-way adjustable traction control ensures optimal acceleration out of corners and more safety on wet tracks. The type 3 racing ABS from Continental can be adjusted in ten steps to the track conditions as well as to influence the vehicle balance towards understeer or oversteer depending on the driver's wishes when turning into corners. Both selector levers are located directly on the steering wheel and can be operated intuitively there. Aero profile suspensions, aluminium wheel carriers with quick camber adjustment:
The wishbones made of high-strength steel are designed in an aero-profile form, which is particularly important on the front axle, since there the air is led to the rear, laterally arranged radiators past the wishbones. They are combined with aluminium wheel carriers milled from solid, which, thanks to ingenious mechanics, have integrated a quick camber adjustment, which eliminates the need for time-consuming modifications when changing the camber and, above all, does not affect the track set-up of the car. MoTec motor control and MoTec data logger:
The standard MoTec engine control includes a MoTec data logger and thus allows full data analysis in racing. Power Distribution Unit:
The KTM X-BOW GTX has an electronic fuse box from SaReNi. The fuses are no longer physically available but programmed individually. This reduces the susceptibility to errors and ultimately the probability of failure during racing, since short voltage peaks do not "drop" any physical fuse (and paralyze the car or a system). Rather, the electronic fuse “engages” itself again, and the car continues to drive without any problems. And that - individually adjustable - even several thousand times in a row. Audi 2.5 liter five-cylinder TFSI:
The engine with the abbreviation DNW is the latest variant of the legendary five-cylinder unit from Audi, which has caused a sensation in motorsport since the 1980s, whether in the Audi S1 in the World Rally Championship or in the Audi 80 IMSA GTO on closed circuit racing. The great-grandson of this legendary drivetrain is a technologically incredible high-quality engine with countless ingenious detailed solutions that make the heart of every engine specialist beat faster. For the 500 PS power level, that develops a maximum torque of 650 Nm, the "innards" of the engine with air-cooled intercooler could remain untouched, only the injection valves, the wastegate, the intake system, the exhaust system and the software were adapted. Sequential gearbox:
The sequential six-speed gearbox is the tried and tested MF model from Holinger that has a continuous load capacity of 750 Newton meters and a peak load capacity of 1,000 Newton meters. It is therefore ideally suited to converting the powerful thrust of the 500 hp Audi engine into effective propulsion. A sintered metal racing clutch, an easier drive and a limited-slip differential are helpful. Airjack system:
Nowadays, an airjack system is used as standard in racing, and the KTM X-BOW GTX is already equipped with the system from Krontec, which speeds up tire changes on track days and makes minor service or repair work easier. Sachs racing dampers:
The dampers from Sachs can be adjusted in rebound and compression as well as in height on the front and the rear axles. On the front axle it is installed in a push-rod arrangement including an adjustable stabilizer. Endurance braking system:
The brake calipers on the KTM X-BOW GTX are already designed for long-distance use. A 6-piston endurance brake system with a 378 mm disc diameter grips at the front, a 4-piston brake system with a 355 mm disc diameter at the rear. Rear frame made of high-strength tubular steel frame:
The rear frame is made of high-strength steel tubes. On the one hand, it houses the 2.5 litre five-cylinder engine from Audi, on the other hand the sequential six-speed gearbox from Holinger, represents the mounting points for the rear suspension and provides the attachment for the high-performance radiators. Numerous crash elements at the rear of the car ensure that the valuable technology remains as undamaged as possible in the event of rear-end collisions.

GREAT SUCCESS AT THE NÜRBURGRING 24 H RACE: TEICHMANN RACING ON P24 WITH THE KTM X-BOW GT4!

Ver Perfil
  • Teichmann Racing extremely successful with two KTM X-BOW GT4s in places 24 & 46
  • KTM factory rider Reini Kofler amongst the top 25 together with a strong customer crew
  • Rain interruption during the night prevents Teichmann Racing from an even better result
Almost 100 teams tackled the season highlight on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the legendary 24-hour race, starting on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. During practice and qualifying on Thursday and Friday, the weather conditions were cool, but mostly dry, but it began to rain heavily just at the start of the race. However, that was only meant to be a taste of what the teams should experiencfe on this unusually late September date. Teichmann Racing had two teams in the "CUP-X" class, with works driver Reini Kofler on both vehicles. Stephan Brodmerkel, Karl-Heinz Teichmann, Ercan “Airgee” Kara Osman and Kofler shared the KTM X-BOW GT4 with the starting number 110, while Georg Griesemann, youngster Yves Volte and Maik Rönnefarth were named on the car with the number 111. Kofler qualified both cars and conquered starting positions 37 and 38, thus also the first row of the second starting group - a great grid position in the extremely strong field with 30 GT3 vehicles alone. After the start of the race was completed successfully by the respective drivers (Kofler # 111 and "Airgee" # 110), there was excitement in the pits already on the first lap. A TCR participant had turned the car with the # 110, and due to the routine check at the pits that became necessary, the team dropped to 71st place. The sister car with Kofler at the wheel, on the other hand, was able to move up place by place. Shortly before midnight - both KTM X-BOW GT4s ran without any problems - the race was interrupted with the red flag. Too much rain and thus standing water on the track made an interruption necessary until the restart at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. From then on, the focus for both teams was to cross the finish line without any mistakes - which was executed impressively and therefore the team was rewarded with the places 24 (# 111) and 46 (# 110) overall. Team boss Michael Teichmann was accordingly satisfied: “We have once again demonstrated the competitiveness, reliability and the exceptionally good price-performance ratio of the KTM X-BOW GT4. Driving this far up in the ranks with 30 GT3 and numerous Porsche Cup cars on the grid shows the potential of the car. Our customer team, which was thankfully supported by factory driver Reini Kofler, achieved the best KTM result so far in the 24-hour race here at the Nürburgring. Big compliments to all the drivers who showed a great performance - and that in extremely difficult conditions. We could certainly have made up a few places more thanks to the good Michelin rain tires during the night, but of course safety comes first. Big thanks also to my entire team, the mechanics, the engineers, the helpers. We're going to celebrate now, that's really a great result for us and for KTM!”

DOUBLE POLE AND DOUBLE VICTORY FOR TRUE RACING: TRIUMPHAL HOCKENHEIM EVENT FOR KOFLER & JANITS!

Ver Perfil
  • Sensational racing weekend for True Racing at the second ADAC GT4 Germany event
  • KTM works driver Reinhard Kofler and Florian Janits take two pole positions and both wins
  • Czech team RTR Projects conquers the trophy classification in the second race on Sunday
With 22 starters on the grid, the field of participants in the ADAC GT4 Germany continued to grow for the second race weekend at the Hockenheim Motodrom, so the competition for the two KTM teams – True Racing / Reiter Engineering with KTM factory driver Reinhard Kofler and Florian Janits and RTR Projects with Jan Krabec and Lenny Marioneck – was a little bigger. For the races, both teams – the first with the "EVO" version of 2020, the second with the KTM X-BOW GT4 of the 2019 model year – did not expect too great a chance, as the Hockenheim track with its two long straights usually tends to help the competitors. However, the KTM X-BOW GT4 "EVO" was able to keep up particularly well during practice, while RTR Projects had to deal with grip problems on the rear axle. Then sensation in the first qualifying: Florian Janits took pole position! It got even better in the first race, in which the rest of the field didn’t stand a chance against the duo Janits/Kofler that took victory! The pairing Krabec/Marioneck, however, had a lot of bad luck: Hit by a competitor in the first lap, they fell far behind and were only fifteenth in the end. KTM works rider Reinhard Kofler: “It was by no means easy, we had to fight hard. When the tires started to go at the end of the race, I was able to pass and take the win. Many thanks to KTM Sportcar GmbH, but above all to the entire Reiter Engineering team, who worked perfectly after the difficult Nürburgring weekend and solved the problems. And of course thanks to Achim Schlafke from RMN Bauen & Wohnen, who made this season possible, being the main sponsor!" The second qualifying on Sunday was also the “prey” of True Racing, Reinhard Kofler achieved pole position and drove a strong first stint in the afternoon race before handing the KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO over to Florian Janits. During the final 25 minutes Janits literally surpassed himself and at the beginning of the last lap he catched the leading Porsche: “I gave everything to make this victory possible. And that, although the BoP adjustment on Sunday cost us a bit of performance and our pit stop time was seven seconds longer due to the regulations! The overtaking maneuver at the end was very tight, but it was enough. I'm really happy, thanks to Reini, to Reiter and to KTM as well as to my partners EnergieDirect and Storage24, who are supporting me this season! ”After a strong performance by Lenny Marioneck and Jan Krabec, the end of the weekend went well for RTR Projects: Eleventh place overall and victory in the “Trophy” classification were a good reward for their efforts.

KTM X-BOW GT4 FINALLY AT SPEED IN DTM TROPHY: FACTORY DRIVER REINHARD KOFLER TAKES 2nd PLACE!

Ver Perfil
  • After intensive cooperation between all parties, the KTM X-BOW GT4 is now up to speed
  • Bad luck prevents a top position in the first DTM Trophy race on Saturday
  • KTM works rider Reinhard Kofler with an impressive second place on Sunday
At the DTM Trophy race weekend at the Lausitzring, the KTM X-BOW GT4 was mostly not able to follow its competitors. Thus, an intensive test at the Hockenheimring was organized, at which representatives of ITR were also present to get to the bottom of the problems. Thanks to the good cooperation between Teichmann Racing, Reiter, KTM and ITR, the knot finally burst during the race weekend at the Nürburgring. The positive expectations were finally confirmed in the free practice sessions: KTM works driver Reinhard Kofler classified himself in first and second place in the sessions - the expectations for qualifying and the race on Saturday were correspondingly high. There, however, things did not go according to plan again, Kofler seemed to have no chance of a top position: eleventh place in qualifying, ninth place in the race - which resulted in eleventh place after a penalty due to an contact with another driver. Team boss Georg Teichmann, who coordinated the Nürburgring race on home soil for the team from Adenau: “Together with the engineers from Reiter Engineering we discovered that Reini's car was apparently developing an engine failure. That was the reason why he didn't have a chance to fight at the top.” The team swapped the engine overnight - and hoped for a better performance on Sunday. These hopes should not be disappointed. Second place in qualifying was followed by a strong race by Kofler, who was able to celebrate second place behind season dominator Tim Heinemann. “I doubted a bit yesterday,” said an overjoyed Kofler who, despite the mediocre first race, left the Nürburgring satisfied: “A big thank you to Teichmann Racing and Reiter-Engineering for their tireless efforts, the boys almost didn't sleep, they had an intense nightshift, thank God the effort was worth it. Of course, a thank you also goes to ITR, who worked with us to find a solution. The DTM Trophy is an extremely strong championship. It was great fun and I would like to come back!” Georg Teichmann was also satisfied: “We were able to show that the KTM X-BOW GT4 is on par with the other brands in the DTM Trophy, especially here at our home track this was really important. Congratulations to Reini, he implemented everything perfectly. Now we hope that, with a little luck, our regular drivers will also be among the strong midfield runners in the DTM Trophy, we are looking forward to the rest of the season's races!"

HOME GAME IN A PERFECT SETTING: EXCITING X-BOW BATTLE RACES AT THE RED BULL RING!

Ver Perfil
  • Exciting X-BOW BATTLE Races in the perfect setting of the Red Bull Ring
  • Kris Rosenberger dominates the GT4 class and clocks up two overall victories
  • BOB BAU & Christian Schäfer Elite winners, Wassertheurer & Bouthoorn Cup winners
Once again, Project Spielberg proved to be the perfect host for KTM’s one-make racing series, the X-BOW BATTLE, which had its second race weekend under the best weather conditions as part of the GT-Open weekend. RACE ONE
Former Rally Champion Kris Rosenberger, who last year competed in the X-BOW CUP EUROPE, made a guest start with the ‘Performance Automotive’ KTM X-BOW GT4. Under the eyes of team boss, Helmut Ritzer, he grabbed the pole position. Czech driver Josef Koller was the fastest in the Elite class, and Tamino Bergmeier secured the pole in the X-BOW CUP EUROPE class. The race got off to a flying start on Saturday afternoon with pole-sitter Rosenberger holding on to the lead. The entire field got safely through the first lap. A hefty battle immediately developed among the Elite drivers, but Josef Koller managed to stay in the clear. He then set about putting the pressure on Kris Rosenberger. Behind them, there was a lot going on between BOB BAU, Georg Silbermayr, and German driver Christian Schäfer. The CCS-Racing driver showed how much he had improved. He overtook all Elite competitors and even would have had the speed for the overall win. He then overdid his attack on leader Rosenberger, went into a spin, and lost the advantage. The situation then got tight again for Kris Rosenberger towards the end of the race. Trencar-Racing driver BOB BAU got ready to go on the attack, but in the end, Rosenberger prevailed to pick up the race win and the GT4 class victory. BOB BAU won the Elite class ahead of Christian Schäfer, who, after his spin, managed to work his way past Georg Silbermayr (fourth overall, third place in the Elite class), and Josef Koller. Once again, the ‘race within a race’ between the X-BOW CUP EUROPE competitors delivered a sensation. Pole-sitter Tamino Bergmeier made a braking error in the Schlossgold corner of the first lap, and Rick Bouthoorn used this to take over the lead. Leon Wassertheurer and Jan Rihs were also among the leaders, and Bergmeier fought his way into this group. In what turned out to be a wild race, this group of four fought for victory, which, unfortunately, was finally decided by some penalties relating to drivers exceeding the track limits several times. Finally, it was Leon Wassertheurer who drove without mistakes to finish on top of the podium. Jan Rihs was second, Rick Bouthoorn third, and Tamino Bergmeier fourth. Stefan Rameseder put in a very good guest start but could not match the speed at the front. Daniel Drexel came out best in a father-son duel, with father Clemens finishing seventh. Thomas Wallasch was eighth. RACE TWO
Bright sunshine also awaited the X-BOW BATTLE competitors on Sunday afternoon for the second race of the weekend. Once again, Kris Rosenberger in the KTM X-BOW GT4 dominated the qualifying, with BOB BAU coming in close behind him as the fastest Elite driver. Best X-BOW CUP EUROPE driver was once again Tamino Bergmeier. As in Saturday's race, the entire field put in a blistering start and got through the first lap unscathed. Rosenberger did not allow BOB BAU to take the lead, but Christian Schäfer set about proving his good form very quickly. He took over second place and began to pressure Rosenberger in front of him, while BOB BAU went into a spin and ended up at the back of the field. It looked like he had some technical problems with his Elite KTM X-BOW. Then, in the ninth lap, there was a change at the front. Following a rare mistake by Kris Rosenberger, Christian Schäfer shot past the GT4 driver and, for the first time, picked up some kilometers as race leader. Rosenberger then hit back a few laps later and went on to take the overall and GT4 class victory also in the second race. Christian Schäfer was able to celebrate his first Elite class win, and Georg Silbermayr finished behind him, while Josef Koller, who also had some technical issues, fell behind. He still made the Elite podium, and BOB BAU collected points for fourth place in the class. It was another thrilling fight in the X-BOW CUP EUROPE. Rick Bouthoorn again managed to overtake Tamino Bergmeier in the first lap and did not give up the lead right to the finish. The Dutchman, meanwhile, had to endure an unbelievable battle against his German colleague Widersacher Bergmeier. The two drivers were several times head-on-head, and for a while, it also looked like Leon Wassertheurer would also have a say in who was to win. Finally, the three drivers crossed the line in that order. Jan Rihs, last year’s winner on the Red Bull Ring – who was held back with some minor problems – only managed to finish fourth. Fifth in the X-BOW CUP EUROPE was Stefan Rameseder, and sixth was Daniel Drexel. He went into the gravel on the first lap but was finally able to overtake his father. Thomas Wallasch rounded off the top eight. The third and final event of the X-BOW BATTLE will be on October 9-10, again at the Red Bull Ring, this time as guests at the Histo Cup.

IMPRESSIVE SUCCESS AT THE GT-OPEN RED BULL RING: KTM GTX CONCEPT EQUALS SPEED OF GT3 VEHICLES!

Ver Perfil
  • The KTM GTX Concept successfully completes its final test in a sprint race at the GT Open
  • Despite prototype class G3BoP, the development vehicle scores victory in the first race
  • The post-race disqualification due to a formal error in the documents is appealed by the team
The new KTM X-BOW GTX and its "big brother", the KTM X-BOW GT2, are about to be officially launched, and the intensive test and development program for the new lightweight super sports cars from KTM has entered its final phase. After a sensational performance in the endurance test during the 12-hour race in Monza, there was another test last weekend, executed in an exceptionally strong sprint race, precisely at the GT Open at the Red Bull Ring. Hans Reiter, head of KTM X-BOW development partner Reiter-Engineering and responsible for the test and development programme, came to Spielberg with realistic expectations: “Thanks to Jesus Pareja and his GT-Open we were allowed to start in the 'G3' prototype class after there were no starters in the cup class unfortunately. Accordingly, it was clear to us that we would at best be classified in the lower midfield. The focus was not on positions either, it was just a test under racing conditions in the highly competitive environment of a sprint race.” In qualifying, however, the team exceeded their expectations and placed the car in third place on the grid for the first race on Saturday. The race itself then became an absolute sensation: Stefan Rosina and Patrick Niederhauser - the latter, thankfully, after approval from Audi as a replacement for works driver Reinhard Kofler, who was obliged at the Nürburgring - were able to achieve nothing less than overall victory with a good strategy and a top driving performance, ahead of all the GT3 vehicles of the GT Open! “We really didn't expect that,” said Hans Reiter, who, however, received bad news of a post-race disqualification late on Saturday evening: “We can only apologize to KTM, the GT Open and to all partners for this typo, which happened when the technical documentation was created. In the documents, the definition of the rear brake discs was wrong. However, it must be clearly stated that this had no impact on performance or the BoP. Accordingly, we have appealed and assume that the decision will be made in favour of the driver, whose great performance should not and must not be diminished.” For the second race on Sunday, the series organizers made a change to the BoP (plus 50 kg, minus 20 hp) for the KTM X-BOW GTX Concept, and the mandatory pit stop had to be extended by 15 seconds according to regulations after the victory on Saturday. “As a result, we didn't have a realistic chance for another top spot result. In the end, however, we were very satisfied with ninth place. In any case, we were able to demonstrate the potential of the car more than clearly and we now know that we are absolutely competitive in a sprint race.” The new KTM X-BOW GTX and KTM X-BOW GT2 models will be presented in the course of October and will be eligible for various sprint and endurance racing series around the world from 2021.

KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN AT NLS5: GRIESEMANN/KOFLER/VOLTE VICTORIOUS IN THE 6H RACE!

Ver Perfil
  • Traditional 6-hour race with a record size starting grid and exciting fights for positions
  • Georg Griesemann and Reini Kofler win together with Yves Volte in the cup classification
  • The battle for the championship lead is getting intense whle Maik Rönnefarth is still leading
172 entries were received by the organizer for the traditionally longest NLS race of the season, the "ROWE 6 hours ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race", so an absolute record starting grid was waiting to kick-off the race at noon last Saturday. Of course, there were three KTM X-BOW GT4 Cup vehicles, all by Adenau-based KTM X-BOW partner Teichmann-Racing. The favored team in the “CUPX” class was once again to be found in its KTM X-BOW GT4 CUP with starting number 930: KTM works drivers Reinhard Kofler and Georg Griesemann received support from Yves Volte for the six-hour race. The young German was already on the podium in the ADAC GT4 Germany last year - also on a KTM X-BOW GT4 - and has now made his Nordschleife debut on the KTM GT4 vehicle. In any case, the trio more than lived up to their role as favorites. In the end, Kofler/Griesemann/Volte won with an advantage of one lap and a more than respectable 28th place overall - and thus right in the middle of the more than 30 GT3 racing cars that were present in preparation for the 24-hour race. Second place went to the KTM X-BOW GT4 CUP team with starting number 929: Overall cup leader Maik Rönnefahrth had, in addition to his regular team-mate “Airgee” (Kara Osman Ercan) with Hendrik Still also a quick third driver for the six-hour race. Thanks to the second place (rank 45 overall), Rönnefarth was able to collect good points again. With 44 points he’s still leading in the overall standings of the KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN. However, Georg Griesemann and Reinhard Kofler are already a little closer on his heels, the two of them holding at 36 points each. “Airgee” is also close behind with 33 points, followed by Stephan Brodmerkel and Michael Mönch tied for fifth and sixth overall. The latter two competed in the third KTM X-BOW GT4 CUP with the number 927, this time sharing the steering wheel with Tom Leswal and Karl-Heinz Teichmann. Even if the quartet did experience some problems, they still finished in the top 100 and were able to collect points for the overall standings. There are still three races to run this year, the sixth NLS event will follow on October 24th - so it will be a “hot autumn” on the Nürburgring Nordschleife as well as in the KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN!

Marco Polo Motorsports Clinches Maiden SprintX Victory at Sonoma Raceway

Ver Perfil
SONOMA, Cali., (August 9, 2020) – Marco Polo Motorsports put on a commanding performance this weekend in the GT4 America triple header race weekend at Sonoma Raceway. The No. 71 KTM X-BOW dominated the charts at the sports car racing event, seeing drivers Nicolai Elghanayan and Mads Siljehaug earn two pole positions and one race win at their home event. “Winning at Sonoma Raceway was amazing,” said Elghanayan. “Mads and I did a great job keeping the car clean, having no contact or anything. The car worked perfectly, and as a result, we had a commanding lead and the fastest race lap. It was a great race and we hope to have more like it at the next rounds at Road America.” The Laguna Beach, California team earned the pole positions for race one and two, and the KTM X-BOW dominated race one until mechanical issues with the electronic wastegate system robbed the team of their lead. They worked overnight to repair the issues, leading the field to green for a second attempt on Saturday morning. Better suited for the cooler temperatures than the previous afternoon, the KTM led every lap of race two, winning by 17 seconds. The field faced warm temperatures for Sunday morning’s race three, which affected the performance of KTM sports car. Mads Siljehaug started the race in 21st and had an impressive opening run, gaining five positions in the first lap. He continued his charge up the field, facing stronger competition the further up the charts he climbed. By the time Nicolai Elghanayan took over, the KTM began to struggle in the heat, resulting in a 20th place finishing position. “These are growing pains that are expected with a new car,” said Mads Siljehaug. “Despite the issues, the crew did an excellent job, and the car was unbeatable when everything ran well. We’ll work more on the car and come back stronger for Road America.” The next round of the 2020 season will take place August 28-30 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The event will again feature a triple header for the SprintX championship in an effort to make up for previous race rounds that were canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. THRILLING AND EXCITING START TO THE SEASON: SPECTACULAR X-BOW BATTLE RACES AT SLOVAKIARING!

Ver Perfil
  • X-BOW BATTLE finally starts again after a long, involuntary break
  • Two spectacular races at the challenging Slovakiaring
  • Extremely exciting races in all classes – Elite, GT4 & X-BOW CUP EUROPE
20 drivers signed up for the season’s first races at the Slovakiaring, 18 started on Friday for the free practice. This was a respectable field, given the difficult circumstances. It was already evident in first-race qualifying that the quality of drivers this season is extremely high. The time differences were very close, the lap times, compared to last year, very fast, all of which promised great excitement for race one, set for Friday afternoon. Race One Former X-BOW BATTLE Champ Holger Baumgartner (CCS Racing) secured the pole position; Adam Galas (Poland) drove the fastest GT4 into second place on the starting grid, and the fastest rookie was newcomer Tamino Bergmeier. The race got underway on time at 17:10 hours, and in contrast to last year’s action-packed start on the Slovakiaring, everything went smoothly through the first corner – no collisions and no spins. But pole-sitter and pre-race favorite Holger Baumgartner was in the pits already after the first lap when the Lambda sensor of his Elite-class X-BOW quit working, depriving him of a potential good result. Meanwhile, a very tough four-driver battle developed for the lead in which the two Austrians Georg Silbermayr and BOB BAU fought it out for a win in the Elite class. Close behind them, Adam Galas and the Swiss newcomer Martin Koch from Motorsport Zentrum Ried were chasing the GT4 class victory. In the end, first across the line was reigning BATTLE Champion BOB BAU, Silbermayr was second, and Galas, in the Automotive Performance KTM X-BOW GT4, took third. Christian Schäfer was behind Martin Koch to finish third in the Elite class and was overall fifth. Meanwhile, close behind them, the young drivers of the X-BOW CUP EUROPE were delivering exciting racing action. Newcomers Dutch driver Rick Bouthoorn and the German Tamino Bergmeier put the pressure on more experienced competitors like Austrians Jan Rihs and Daniel Drexel, and German driver Leon Wassertheurer. Polesitter Tamino Bergmeier set the pace for much of the race, but Rick Bouthoorn, with Jan Rihs in tow, took the lead in the final third of the race. ‘Man of the Race’, however, was Leon Wassertheurer, who had technical problems in Qualifying and had to start from the back of the field. At the end of the race, he almost managed to overtake Tamino Bergmeier in the fight for third place. Following a shifting error, he crossed the line in ‘only’ fourth place, behind winner Bouthoorn, Rhis, and Bergmeier. ‘Best of the rest’ was Mathias Pelzmann, who finished just in front of Daniel Drexel. Drexel also earned some extra praise. He managed to get through the race despite pain in his left leg after a nasty high-speed crash in practice. Thomas Schlack, Stefan Grafetstetter, Christoph Schwarzlmüller, and Thomas Wallasch completed the top ten of the X-BOW CUP EUROPE.   Race Two The front of the starting field for the second race on Saturday was very similar to Friday. Overall on pole was again Elite class driver Holger Baumgartner with Adam Galas in the fastest KTM X-BOW GT4, behind him. There was a new polesitter in the X-BOW CUP EUROPE class after Leon Wassertheurer put in the fastest lap to make up for his bad luck in the first Qualifying. Although there were threatening storm clouds hovering over the start, the race stayed dry throughout, apart from a few drops of rain. Once again, there was a clean start with no bumps or incidents, but the excitement kicked in at the end of the first lap. X-BOW CUP EUROPE driver Rick Bouthoorn was in the class lead, but slid into the gravel. He stayed in the race but dropped right back in the field. At the same time, Holger Baumgartner was once more in the pits, and his Elite class X-BOW was again going nowhere. With that, Baumgartner’s second race was over. Fortunately, there were no more incidents, but there was plenty of spectacular racing action. Out in front, event organizer Georg Silbermayr tried to break away from the rest of the field, but BOB BAU closed in and overtook him to secure a double race victory for the Trencar-Racing team. Behind Georg Silbermayr, Adam Galas was again the winner in the GT4 class, Christian Schäfer (third in Elite), and Martin Koch (second in the GT4) completed the top six. Once again, the X-BOW CUP EUROPE youngsters delivered the toughest fights. After Rick Bouthoorn dropped down the order, Leon Wassertheurer held onto the lead for a long time, while behind him, Jan Rihs, Tamino Bergmaier and Daniel Drexel fought it out for every centimeter. The Austrian Rihs made a surprise attack on Leon Wassertheurer, and despite many counterattacks by the young German, he managed to stay in front until the finish line. Tamino Bergmeier saw the intense two-driver battle ahead if him, but at the same time, he had to defend himself from Daniel Drexel, who he finally managed to fend off. Behind them, Matthias Pelzmann was a good fifth, while Rick Bouthoorn worked his way up to sixth to earn himself some points. Places seven to ten went to Christoph Schwarzlmüller, Stefan Grafetstetter, Thomas Wallasch, and Thomas Brebeck. The second round of the X-BOW BATTLE will be on September 11-13, 2020, at Austria’s Red Bull Ring.

X-BOW BATTLE SEASON KICKS OFF AT SLOVAKIARING: A STRONG LINE-UP PROMISES GREAT RACING ACTION!

Ver Perfil
  • The X-BOW BATTLE starts its eleventh racing season on the upcoming weekend
  • Especially in the X-BOW CUP EUROPE a tough fight for the podium is expected
  • Approximately 20 starters will compete in three different classes at the Slovakiaring
After months of waiting, time has come for the X-BOW BATTLE to resume: The KTM one-make racing series will start at the Slovakiaring this weekend, doing the first of a total of three events of the 2020 season. The technical circuit near Bratislava, opened in 2009, is extremely demanding and will challenge the pilots on their first outing in 2020. Organizer Georg Silbermayr can - despite all the adversities - look forward to a grid of approximately 20 cars, especially the entry-level series "X-BOW CUP EUROPE" with 12 pilots makes up a considerable part of this. “For quite a long time it wasn't even clear whether we could still drive this season”, said Silbermayr, who is now cooperating twice with the Austrian Histo Cup and once with the international GT-Open racing series at three events: “At the Slovakiaring, we are on the road with our friends from the Histo-Cup, it will definitely be a great weekend. The weather there is usually extremely hot at this time of year, but the weather forecast doesn’t rule out rain this time. In any case, it is certain that we will experience exciting races, we’re really looking forward to our season opener." In the “Elite” class, the long-standing rivals “BOB BAU”, Josef Koller, Holger Baumgartner and Georg Silbermayr meet at the Slovakiaring, but newcomer Christian Schäfer will certainly not make it easy for the established drivers. In the GT4 class, Adam Galas is one of the favorites, he meets competition from the "razoon - more than racing" team, who were in the GT4 European Series last year and caused a sensation there with Önder Erdem. The toughest duels are expected in the X-BOW CUP EUROPE: A number of experienced pilots will compete against motivated newcomers on identical KTM X-BOW R racing vehicles. Those who are already familiar with the one-make cup vehicles from previous years include the young German Leon Wassertheurer and the Austrian youngsters Jan Rihs, Mathias Pelzmann and Daniel Drexel. They will meet international newcomers hungry for victory: Rick Bouthoorn from Holland or Tamino Bergmeier from Germany, both successful kart drivers, want to challenge the established drivers. But there are more interesting entrants, some of whom are celebrating their racing premiere at the Slovakiaring: Christoph Schwarzlmüller, Stefan Grafenstetter, Thomas Brebeck and Thomas Schlack as well as Mathias's father, Klaus Pelzmann, who’s joining in for a real father-son duel that will add extra excitement to the two races at the Slovakiaring.

KTM X-BOW CUP CAR IN THE TOP-20 AT NLS4: GRIESEMANN/KOFLER STRIKE AT THE NÜRBURGRING!

Ver Perfil
  • After being "shot down" at NLS3, Georg Griesemann & Reini Kofler strike at NLS4
  • Rönnefarth/Ercan together with Laura Kraihamer on second place in the cup ranking
  • At halfway point of the season Maik Rönnefarth is still leading the overall standings
It created quite some excitement during the third round of the “Nürburgring Long Distance Series”, when the favorite to win the class, Reinhard Kofler, was “shot down” on the Grand Prix track on the very first lap. KTM works driver Kofler, who shares the car with German driver Georg Griesemann at the Nürburgring, was not amused afterwards – just like his driver colleague. But with a lot of anger in their stomach, Kofler and Griesemann were able to strike back impressively at the fourth round of the NLS on August 1st, 2020. After struggling through a rainy Friday, there was no stopping in the race on Saturday: Kofler placed the KTM X-BOW GT4 in Cup specification on pole in the class as well as on starting position 16 in the overall standings, which practically meant to be the fastest non-GT3 car. The Griesemann/Kofler pairing was also unrivaled in the race, which in the end meant an impressive 17th place overall and the victory in cup class. “We’ve been able to show what is in the car this weekend, Georg and I drove flawlessly and made good points in the overall standings. And a top 20 place here on the Nordschleife is always something special”, a happy Reini Kofler reported after crossing the finish line. The second KTM X-BOW GT4 team was by no means badly presented: Maik Rönnefarth/Karam Osman Ercan/Laura Kraihamer entered the four-hour race and finished in second place in the cup standings as well as 33rd overall. For Maik Rönnefarth and Karam Osman Ercan there were important points with regard to the fight for the overall cup victory, while Laura Kraihamer was able to collect valuable racing distance in the KTM X-BOW GT4 on the Nordschleife after a long time: “Due to my involvement with the 'Girls only' team I haven't been able to drive the KTM X-BOW GT4 here for quite a long time. It took a little while until I was at it again, but after that it was endless fun and joy. Our KTM X-BOW GT4 has its own standard in the corners, that's just great!” Maik Rönnefarth continues to lead the overall standings, now with 36 points clearly ahead of Stephan Brodmerkel, Michael Mönch and Kara Osman Ercan (25 points each). They are followed by “Max”, Georg Griesemann and Reinhard Kofler with 24 points each. Excitement remains and the next round of the KTM X-BOW CUP powered by MICHELIN will take place on August 29, 2020, when the traditional 6-hour race is run.

KTM X-BOW GT4 RETURNS TO ADAC GT4 GERMANY IN 2020: REINHARD KOFLER & FLORIAN JANITS AS STRONG DUO!

Ver Perfil
  • The KTM X-BOW GT4 with Kofler and Janits to race once more for Reiter Engineering
  • The season primarily made possible by partners RMN Ingolstadt & EnergieDirect
  • The goal is to fight to defend the title in what is currently the strongest GT4 League
Last year, the premiere year of the ADAC GT4 Germany, it was the Reiter Engineering “Felbermayr” KTM X-BOW GT4, driven by Mads Siljehaug and Eike Angermayr, which gave Austria and the KTM Sportcar GmbH the title. Now, there will be at least one KTM X-BOW GT4 that will fight to defend the title in what is the world’s strongest GT4 league. As was the case last season with the Felbermayr vehicle, it is again Reiter Engineering who will operate the car. Team boss Hans Reiter is optimistic that once again, the team can deliver a good season. "Last year, we saw that the KTM X-BOW GT4 is a strong competitor for the vehicles of the premium manufacturers, and in the end, we were able to take the title for KTM. I am convinced that we can do it again in 2020, and I already promise that we will do everything we can to ensure Reini and Florian are supported in the best possible way, both technically and organizationally. I also believe that with these two, we have a strong driver combination able to match any existing competition, both qualitatively and quantitatively.” Two sponsor partners have played a big part this season in the realization of this project.  On the one hand, the German real estate developer RMN Ingolstadt, and on the other, the Austrian energy supplier EnergieDirect, are supporting Reinhard Kofler and Florian Janits, and the team in their ambitious project. To this is added True Racing, under which the team is registered for the ADAC GT4 Germany. KTM factory driver Reinhard Kofler underlines that without these partners, it would not have been possible to compete in the current season. "In my rather long career in motorsports, I've learned it is necessary to have a combination of the right partners in order to be successful. That is also the case for this project, and I very much look forward to a great and challenging season. The past weeks and months were not easy. Now it is high time that we are again racing. We have a good package, and the goal must certainly be that we fight for the title again!” His teammate Florian Janits agrees: "On the one hand, it is a really cool thing for me, as an Austrian, to have an Austrian team colleague, and be racing in an Austrian car. And on the other, I also believe that we have good possibilities to be up among the front runners. Naturally, the competition is very strong. But after the first test drive with the KTM X-BOW GT4, I am very thrilled about the potential of the car. Now it's up to Reini and me to make the best out of it, and above all, to deliver strong races to give something back to those who support us, like EnergieDirect or Storage24, because they make it possible for us to compete. The title should also stay with KTM, and that's what we'll be fighting for this year."

KTM X-BOW GTX PREMIERE IS GETTING CLOSER: FIRST GLANCE FROM THE COCKPIT PERSPECTIVE!

  • The first production lot of 20 vehicles will be built this year and is already sold out
  • GT homologation almost completed, the car will set new standards in vehicle safety
  • New steering wheel, new operating concept, state-of-the-art camera mirror concept
Despite the lockdown and the difficult circumstances, KTM Sportcar GmbH and development partner Reiter Engineering are able to meet the schedule for the start of the series production of the KTM X-BOW GTX. "We will have the first car on its wheels in August," says Hubert Trunkenpolz, CMO KTM AG. “This is an enormously important milestone for us – and proof of how hard the entire team at KTM and at Reiter Engineering has worked in the past weeks and months. Series production will start as planned in September and the first customer vehicles can be delivered in October”, says Trunkenpolz. In addition to the extraordinary, exclusive look of the full carbon super sports car, the impressive performance data – around 500 hp in the case of the "basic version" KTM X-BOW GTX meet a dry weight of just 1,000 kilograms – and the outstanding safety concept with a combination of a homologated GT roll cage and homologated monocoque, there is now also a new interior and operating concept that’s looking spectacular already in the first renderings and promises a completely new driving experience. "We have a completely redesigned steering wheel with an integrated display and operation of all important functions including adjustable traction control and adjustable ABS”, Hans Reiter is explaining details of the driver's view from the cockpit perspective. “The new ventilation concept with optional, electric air conditioning ensures that the driver stays cool even on hot track days or racing days. Instead of conventional exterior mirrors, we are using a state-of-the-art camera mirror system that sets standards in terms of drag and overall view. And finally, we can present the full carbon competition seat, developed together with our partner Recaro, which on the one hand raises the safety standard of the KTM X-BOW GTX to an even higher level, but on the other hand also offers great ergonomics as it can be adjusted to every driver thanks to individual paddings”, says Reiter.

VALVOLINE & KTM SPORTCAR GMBH RETURN IN STYLE: 2020 RACING SEASON FINALLY GETS UNDERWAY!

Ver Perfil
  • Short but exciting year of racing ahead for partners Valvoline& KTM Sportcar GmbH
  • Valvoline branded KTM X-BOW GTX Prototype attending various international series
  • Spectacular new livery will hit the track for the first time already in July in Monza
After a successful first year for the “Technical Partnership” between Valvoline and KTM Sportcar GmbH, 2020 has started as a big challenge for both companies. As the general situation is slowly but surely improving and more and more racing events are being confirmed, the plans within the partnership are picking up speed again. And even if a complete season within the scope of an international racing series is currently out of the question, Valvoline and KTM Sportcar GmbH have decided to put one or the other exclamation mark. The second half of the year starts with an exciting debut: On July 10 and 11, the prototype version of the KTM X-BOW GTX – the future super sports car from KTM, which is due to debut in fall this year – will start at the legendary high-speed track of Monza in it’s spectacular, newly created Valvoline outfit for the first time. As part of the second round of the "24H Series" of the Creventic organisation and with a strong team consisting of Stefan Rosina, Eike Angermayr and KTM works driver Laura Kraihamer, the Reiter Engineering squad wants to use the long-distance race, scheduled for twelve hours, to prove it’s speed as well as the reliability of the vehicle, but also of the lubricants such as engine oil, transmission oil, coolant or brake fluid from Valvoline. More races are already planned, but due to the almost daily changing conditions, not yet confirmed. In any case the program currently includes an outing during the GT Open at the Red Bull Ring and another appearance at the Creventic 24H Series is to follow in late autumn. Also, the legendary 24-hour race at the Nürburgring could see a spectacular Valvoline car if it get’s underway as planned in September, but then in the form of a KTM X-BOW GT4 car with Valvoline livery. The KTM X-BOW GTX protoype is already equipped with Audi’s legendary five-cylinder engine that is the sucessor of the KTM X-BOW standard four cylinder engine that was used since 2008. The new engine produces more than 500 horsepower, whilst the new generation supercar will feature many more technical highlights beside the engine: Electrical powersteering, electrical gearbox actuator, homologated Recaro competition seat and a steering wheel with integrated display, to name a few. Above all that, the combination of a homologated carbon fibre monocoque with a homologated roll cage will set new safety standards in GT racing, underlining KTM’s strength regarding innovative racing technology.

KTM X-BOW GTX & GT2 TO BE LAUNCHED THIS YEAR: MANUFACTURED IN GRAZ, AVAILABLE IN AUTUMN!

Ver Perfil
  • 25 units already available in 2020, delivery to start in autumn this year
  • Both models to be hand-crafted at the state-of-the-art factory in Graz
  • SRO confirms participation in “GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup” is now possible
  • Prices for the KTM X-BOW GT2 and the basic GTX version also fixed
Following enthusiastic reactions to KTM Sportcar GmbH’s announcement that they, with the KTM X-BOW GT2, wanted to enter the SRO’s new GT2 class as third manufacturer, further details on KTM’s latest lightweight sports car are now available. The racing car, developed together with Reiter Engineering, is being manufactured in the GT2 version, and also a basic KTM X-BOW GTX model for a wide range of GT racing series, (both long-distance and sprint racing). The models are now being introduced onto the market and will be available direct from the KTM Sportcar GmbH or their nominated partners. Pre-sales are to begin immediately, and the prices are now established. KTM board member Hubert Trunkenpolz: “We took a close look at the competitive environment, and thanks to our experience in designing lightweight vehicles, we were able to make several cost optimizations. This made it possible to come up with an extremely interesting price – 294,000 euros (net) for the KTM X-BOW GT2 and 230,000 euros (net) for the KTM X-BOW GTX. Here, it is important to bear in mind that these vehicles have a power-to-weight ratio that is normally only available in the supercar segment. At the same time, the car sets absolute standards in matters of efficiency, and perhaps most importantly, also safety. It is also sensational news that, given the successful homologation of our car by the SRO, makes it eligible to start in the absolute top league of GT racing, the ‘GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup’. That makes us particularly happy.” Michael Wölfling, General Manager of KTM Sportcar GmbH adds: “With a vehicle weight of around 1,000 kg and an output of over 500hp (GTX) and 600hp (GT2) respectively, we don’t have to shy away from comparisons. Thanks to the light weight of the car and of the efficient, state-of-the-art Audi 5-cylinder engine, this means minimal abrasive wear. Further to that, our safety concept combines the best of both worlds. On the one hand, we have a homologated GT roll cage, and on the other, also a homologated monocoque. We will also offer the so-called “Advanced Seat’, which is available on request and offers even more comfort. We have also modified the canopy and the roll cage to allow for more headroom.” The new KTM X-BOW GTX and the KTM X-BOW GT2 have now become very big cars. With 2.850 mm, they have the longest wheelbases in the GT segment. And with a total length of 4.700 mm and a width of 2.040 mm, the external dimensions also do justice to KISKA’s spectacular design and the vehicle’s technological sophistication. Pre-orders are now being accepted, and deliveries of the first 25 vehicles (GTX and GT2) are planned for autumn this year.

NEW LIGHTWEIGHT SPORTSCAR KTM X-BOW GTX: KTM PRESENTS GT2 CLASS PROJECT FOR SRO RACE SERIES!

  • KTM X-BOW GTX lightweight sportscar to debut later this year
  • Five-cylinder Audi power unit produces more than 600hp
  • KTM’s proven carbon monocoque keeps weight at around 1,000 kg
  • KTM intends to become third manufacturer in SRO’s new GT2 racing class
Performance and purism, united in a unique, extreme design, and armed for adventures on the most legendary race tracks in the world. With the new KTM X-BOW GTX, KTM Sportcar GmbH will show just where Austria's only car manufacturer and Europe's largest motorcycle manufacturer is heading. It is the next logical chapter in the exciting story that KTM CEO Stefan Pierer began with the introduction of the KTM X-BOW over 12 years ago. Since then, more than 1,300 cars have been produced in Graz, in one of the most modern low-volume manufacturing facilities, and subsequently sold all over the world. With the KTM X-BOW GTX, the story now reaches new heights with a new benchmark for lightweight racing cars. KTM board member Hubert Trunkenpolz, responsible for the interests of KTM Sportcar GmbH comments: "We transfer KTM’s essential brand elements – extreme, performance and purity – together with KTM’s core areas of expertise, which include state-of-the-art motorsports technology, extremely lightweight construction and the highest quality components, in a racing car that clearly reflects the signs of the times. In motorsport, it is necessary to focus development on a superior power-to-weight ratio to be even faster with economical, more efficient small volume engines. The knowledge acquired from this process must then also be incorporated into the series development.” With a basic weight (before BoP) of around 1,000 kg, and peak power of over 600hp produced by the legendary Audi 2.5-liter, five-cylinder engine, the KTM X-BOW GTX, as a GT2 racer, will be a real benchmark in the lightweight racing car segment. This also represents a power-to-weight ratio of less than 2.0 kg per horsepower! “Thanks to the proven cooperation with Audi Sport, we have been able to draw on their latest five-cylinder engine, the 2.5-liter TFSi. The KTM X-BOW GTX also sets standards in matters of safety. We are the first manufacturer to combine a homologated monocoque with a homologated GT cage, and, on request, also with a homologated advanced seat. Following the worldwide success of the KTM X-BOW GT4, and as reigning champion of the ADAC GT4 Germany, we are now taking the next step with our new racing car, and we will soon be competing in a higher class of racing”, says Trunkenpolz. Alongside the design team from KISKA, Bavarian-based Reiter Engineering GmbH is once again the development partner. General Manager Hans Reiter outlines the anticipated deployment of the future car: “The first 20 cars will be available this year. Subject to the final homologation by the SRO, it then could be entered in all GT2 racing series’, whereby KTM will become, alongside Audi and Porsche, the third manufacturer in this arena to offer such a racing car. Furthermore, the new KTM X-BOW GTX, with a power output of around 500hp, should be eligible to compete in various racing series’ governed by GT regulations. These include the Creventic 24H Series, GT Open, DMV-GTC or the Nürburgring Langstrecken series, depending on homologation. KTM is also planning a one-make Cup series with the car from 2021. I am absolutely convinced that we have exciting times ahead of us and that the KTM X-BOW GTX and the KTM X-BOW GT2 will be enthusiastically received by customers and teams around the world.” An announcement regarding technical details and prices will soon be made, and a KTM X-BOW GT2 is expected to race for the first time as part of an SRO event in autumn this year.

  • MPM veteran Nicolai Elghanayan will join forces with Reiter works driver Mads Siljehaug
  • The Muellerized managed team upgrades its KTM X-BOW GT4 to the new EVO version
The opening event of the 2020 Pirelli GT4 America championship kicks off in less than a month, and Marco Polo Motorsports has big plans in store for the upcoming season. The KTM X-BOW team, managed by Muellerized, has just announced the expansion to the SprintX championship of GT4 America, running the two-driver format with MPM veteran Nicolai Elghanayan and Reiter Engineering Works Driver Mads Siljehaug in 2020. “Marco Polo Motorsports is thrilled to get this season started,” said Team Owner Jeff Elghanayan. “We’re proud to welcome Mads Siljehaug to the program to co-drive with Nicolai in our newly updated 2020 spec KTM XBOW GT4 EVO. With all of our partners returning for the upcoming season, the combination of our supporting sponsors, drivers, cars and crew will bring a competitive package to the series.” The team previously ran in the GT4 America Sprint series, with Nicolai Elghanayan as the sole driver of the No. 71 KTM X-BOW racing car. An unfortunate shoulder injury off track forced Elghanayan and the team to sideline the racing efforts halfway through the 2019 season. In his two partial seasons, the young racer has earned two wins and eight top-five finishes in GT4 America. “I’m happy we’re able to announce that Mads Siljehaug and I will be teaming up to compete in GT4 America SprintX for 2020,” said Nicolai Elghanayan. “Mads and I drove together at the Zandvoort GT4 European Series race and we really hit it off landing the first podium for the team that year. Mads is a phenomenal driver who won the ADAC GT4 championship last year. I think our similar driving styles and familiarity with the KTM will bring about great success in the new 2020 KTM X-BOW GT4 in hopes of securing a championship.” Reiter Engineering Works Driver Mads Siljehaug joined the ranks of GT racing in 2016, where he still races today. Last season, Siljehaug raced in the GT4 European series, earning one podium and two pole positions. He also participated in the ADAC GT4 Germany championship, where he clinched the championship title with two victories and four podiums. “This opportunity is a milestone for my carrier,” said Siljehaug. “I am honored to get this chance and trust from Marco Polo Motorsports, and I’m highly motivated to give my best on and off track with the goal of bringing the championship to the team.” Muellerized will return to support the effort, run by third generation champion racer John Mueller, who’s serving the sixth consecutive season as the chief engineer and race strategist for Marco Polo Motorsports. "With the improvements made to the 2020 KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO by our teammates at Reiter Engineering, we look forward to seeing how this season plays out, but I’m sure we’re having the best possible car”, said Mueller.

DOUBLE VICTORY AND TITLE WIN IN ADAC GT4 GERMANY: TITLE WIN FOR ANGERMAYR/SILJEHAUG IN THE KTM X-BOW!

Ver Perfil
  •  Sensational final weekend for KTM at the ADAC GT4 Germany on the Sachsenring
  • Eike Angermayr & Mads Siljehaug take the drivers’ title for Felbermayr-Reiter
  • Customer team RTR-Projects win second race with Jan Krabec & Lenny Marioneck
  • Junior duo Marcel Marchewicz/Yves Volte on the podium in their very first race
The title fight in the ADAC GT4 Germany had developed into a nail biter in recent races. Going into the grand finale on the Sachsenring there were three teams in with a chance of picking up the title in the ADAC GT4 Germany: the BMW duo Marius Zug/Gabriele Piana, the Mercedes team Hamza and Jusuf Owega and the Austrian-Norwegian pair Eike Angermayr and Mads Siljehaug with their Felbermayr-Reiter KTM X-BOW GT4. For the couple racing in the legendary Felbermayr colors, it was clear that the first race on the Sachsenring was all about putting off the final decision until race two on Sunday. With an 18-point deficit, it would have been fatal at this stage to finish behind the leading duo Zug/Piana. And on the racing circuit close to Chemnitz, both KTM and Reiter Engineering were undoubtedly expecting to stay in the running, because the spectacular MotoGP circuit, with its many tight corners and extremely demanding undulations, was one that was going to suit the agile, lightweight KTM X-BOW GT4. Mads Siljehaug finished eighth in a difficult qualifying as the track dried out, while Marius Zug had to start from 21st place in the penultimate race of the season. After a turbulent start, both Felbermayr-Reiter drivers got right into the fight and delivered a superb finish to take the victory. Meanwhile, True Racing driver Reinhard Kofler made contact with BMW driver Gabriela Piana when he tried to overtake him, with both of them losing a few places. The other two KTM driver pairs also delivered excellent performances. The youngster duo Marcel Marchewicz, winner of the X-BOW Rookies Challenge, and his German countryman Yves Volte drove to third place in a near-perfect race. They then moved up a step on the podium after the second-placed Porsche was disqualified. The Czech Customer Team RTR-Projects saw their two drivers Jan Krabec and Lenny Marioneck finally finish in fifth and fourth place respectively. So as hoped, the title was finally decided in the last race of the season. Before Sunday's race, just three points separated Eike Angermayr and Mads Siljehaug from the title win. The KTM GT4 teams already showed their strength in qualifying. Lenny Marioneck picked up pole position for RTR Projects, youngster Yves Volte put his Austrian racer on the grid at second, and Reini Kofler put in the fourth fastest qualification time. Eike Angermayr secured seventh starting position to put him right next to championship rival Gabriele Piana. Another hectic start phase followed. The first start was canceled, followed by a restart after another lap behind the safety car. There were some collisions, among others between Reini Kofler and Eike Angermayr. While Kofler went into a spin, Angermayr drove on to remain within striking distance of BMW driver Piana right up to the pit stop. Then, just after the scheduled pit stop when the drivers changed and Siljehaug took the wheel of the Felbermayr/Reiter Engineering KTM X-BOW GT4, the Reiter team saw something unbelievable: Championship contender Gabriele Piana had to take his BMW M4 GT4 back to the pits, apparently with a technical defect. It was a real test of nerves from that moment on, with Mads Siljehaug at the wheel of the KTM X-BOW GT4. He almost got tangled up in a spectacular three-way fight, but the young Norwegian managed to stay out of trouble and went on to finish in seventh place, one position behind True Racing driver Laura Kraihamer – thus securing the first-ever ADAC GT4 Germany title for him, Eike Angermayr, Felbermayr/Reiter Engineering, and the KTM Sportcar GmbH. The day of celebrations was complete with the sensational race victory for Jan Krabec/Lenny Marioneck in the RTR Projects KTM X-BOW. Quotes from the finale of the ADAC GT4 Germany on the Sachsenring Hans Reiter: “I believe today we have to be incredibly proud of our drivers, and of every single team member who contributed to us winning this title. We didn’t just win the title against outstanding teams and drivers, but also against two noble English sportscar brands, and the assembled premium German car manufacturers. The fact that the comparatively small vehicle manufacturer from Austria and the Bavarian private racing team have succeeded in taking the title is simply extraordinary.” Hubert Trunkenpolz, KTM Board Member: “Congratulations to Eike Angermayr and Mads Siljehaug, and to Reiter Engineering for winning the ADAC GT4 championship title. That is a special moment and a fantastic result. It makes us very, very proud and shows what the KTM X-BOW GT4 is capable of. A big thank you and many congratulations naturally to all the other KTM X-BOW GT4 drivers, and to all the employees of KTM Sportcar GmbH, who with their commitment, made this success possible.” Eike Angermayr: “We did it! It was unbelievable to be part of this team, and this season’s success. Mads was a perfect teammate, and together we were able to take the title for Felbermayr, Reiter Engineering, and KTM.” Mads Siljehaug: "What a feeling, I'm overjoyed. It was a good consistent year with Eike, we drove some great races, but this weekend was the absolute highlight. My thanks go to Horst Felbermayr, Hans Reiter, KTM and the whole team. This success would not have been possible without their generous support and their hard work. We had a fantastic car for the whole season." Jan Krabec: “Unbelievable! Lenny and I make a perfect duo, and right from the beginning, it all went well. His performance in today's qualifying was excellent. The 30 minutes of my stint was the longest 30 minutes of my life. That, in the end, it was enough for the victory is the result of RTR Projects continuous hard work. So thank you to the team for the perfect support!" Lenny Marioneck: "What a weekend! RTR Projects worked perfectly, and Jan drove a very strong second stint to take the win. I’m quite satisfied with my race, especially as I have been out of the car for so long. Congratulations to Mads and Eike, I'm glad they were able to win the title." Marcel Marchewicz: "I'm very happy with the weekend. Thanks to Reiter Engineering, and to Yves, they all did a super job. Unbelievable that we were able to finish second in our first ADAC GT4 Germany race, it is such a good and hard-fought racing series. Unfortunately, we made some mistakes today and got a drive-through penalty. Without them, we could have done a lot better. Yves Volte: “After our great qualifying we should have done a lot better in race two, but unfortunately I made a mistake at the beginning. Sorry to the team, and Marcel. But of course, I am still pleased with our second place."
