ABOUT DENIZ

For sheer attacking, competitive commitment, there are few in Grand Prix racing to rival Deniz Öncü. The Turk turned 21 in July 2024 and is now embarking on his second season of Moto2 action. Öncü (pronounced ‘on-chew’) has built a reputation based on passion, excitement, and all-out determination. After a learning year in Moto3 in 2020, he began to post podium results and Pole Positions in 2021. By 2022, he was an outside bet for the championship (finishing 5th) and went much closer in 2023, with seven podium appearances – including three victories – and securing a top-four standing through some typically thrilling Moto3 Grands Prix. Deniz made a seamless transition into Moto2 with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team for 2024, demonstrating his adaptability and drive. As he heads into the 2025 season, Öncü continues his journey of learning and progression, showing the potential to become a standout competitor in the intermediate class. The learning curve remains steep, but Deniz Öncü’s tenacity and skill make him one to watch in Moto2.
