MotoGP is the fastest, most prestigious, and most-watched motorcycle racing contest around the globe. 2024 will represent the 75th year of the FIM Grand Prix Motorcycling World Championship and is set to be the longest season to-date with 22 rounds. The 2023 campaign was watched by almost 3 million people at the circuit fences. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing have been part of the MotoGP elite since the start of 2017.

In 2023 they placed 2nd in the Constructors Championship, 4th in the Riders Championship – thanks to Brad Binder who scored a total of 8 podium appearances and two Sprint victories as well as setting a new MotoGP top speed record of 366.1 kmph (227 mph) at the Gran Premio D’Italia in May – and were the 4th best team.

One of the highlights was the double podium finish for both Binder and teammate Jack Miller at Jerez for the Gran Premio de España. KTM have banked six outright Grand Prix wins before the start of the 2024 championship, which will be their eighth assault on the competition with the KTM RC16.

    MOTO2™ & MOTO3™

KTM is one of only three brands in the FIM Grand Prix Motorcycling World Championship to have an extensive racing presence through all three divisions - Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP – and with distinction. Moto3 is the foundation level in Grand Prix and KTM boast five Championship titles – three achieved with help from long-term partner Red Bull KTM Ajo in 2012, 2016 and 2021 and two in 2013 and 2020. KTM have accumulated almost 90 wins with the KTM RC4 since owning the very first Moto3 championship in 2012. In Moto2 KTM extended their unbeaten run of rider and team championships to three consecutive years thanks to Pedro Acosta and the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad. Moto2 has provided a crucial route for talent to make a break in the MotoGP category. Since 2018, Brad Binder, Augusto Fernandez, Miguel Oliveira, Remy Gardner and others have all come through KTM Moto2 efforts to enter MotoGP pit boxes.

    Deniz Öncü

ABOUT DENIZ For sheer attacking, competitive commitment then there are few in Grand Prix racing to rival Deniz Öncü. The Turk will 21 in July 2024 and during his fifth season of world championship action. Öncü (pronounced ‘on-chew’) has built a reputation based on passion, excitement and balls-out graft. He needed just one full campaign of Moto3 in 2020 to learn the demands of the category before he started to post podium results and Pole Positions in 2021. He was an outside bet for the championship in 2022 (finishing 5th) and then went much closer in 2023 by appearing on the box seven times – including three victories - and snaring a top four standing through some typically chaotic Moto3 Grands Prix. Deniz seemed a natural choice to continue his education and progression into Moto2 with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team for 2024 and earned his place in the intermediate class by virtue of his high billing on the KTM RC4. The learning starts again for DO.

    Celestino Vietti

    View Profile
ABOUT CELESTINO Arguably one of Italy’s most exciting upcoming prospects, Celestino has won Grands Prix in both Moto3 and Moto2 and has already tallied five full seasons of world championship experience since making his Moto3 debut in 2018. Vietti does not turn 23 until 13 October 2024, so his rise has been steady with immense flashes of speed, natural ability and unbeatable form. He should lodge more than 100 GP starts in 2024 and for what will be his first term with the all-conquering Red Bull KTM Ajo squad. Prior to the launch of the ‘maiden’ season in Red Bull orange, Vietti has 15 pieces of podium silverware to his name and is hotly tipped to add further distinctions based on his clear skills and developing maturity. Celestino is a product of the famed VR46 Academy, so knows very well the standards of excellence and performance expected in a team like Red Bull KTM Ajo.

ABOUT XABI The newest and youngest addition to the KTM GP Academy. Xabi comes into the Red Bull KTM Ajo structure as the rookie for 2024 but with a large of amount of hope and expectation around his possibilities. Zurutuza can follow the high-flying examples of Pedro Acosta, Daniel Holgado and Jose Rueda as first-timers that have stamped their presence in the hectic Moto3 pack. The leap from 18th to 6th position in just one year of FIM JuniorGP racing caught the eyes of many in Grand Prix. The 17-year-old made clear progress from 2022 to 2023 and added two JuniorGP victories to his CV (in Portugal and Catalunya) to really make his Basque surname jump out from the results sheets for Moto3 teams. A former national Supermoto champion, Xabi will be aiming to continue his upwards slide as his Moto3 career rockets up to pace.

    Jose Antonio Rueda

    View Profile
ABOUT JOSE ANTONIO Jose blended perfectly with KTM Moto3 machinery in 2022 when he swept the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup: arguably the best and most high-profile feeder series to MotoGP and Grand Prix racing. The Spaniard had also won FIM JuniorGP the same season and was deservedly among the hottest prospects on the international stage. The promise earned him a seat with Red Bull KTM Ajo for 2023 and the teenage rookie banked 11 top-ten race finishes, as well as a maiden podium at Catalunya to rank 9th for the year. Jose had to learn a wide selection of new circuits as well as fresh rivals and the racecraft of Moto3. 2023 was an education but also a showcase for his potential. Rueda will turn 19 by October 2024 and towards the end of only his second Grand Prix campaign.

    KTM GP ACADEMY

The KTM GP Academy was created as a talent filtering system to identify, support and nurture some of the brightest prospects from development series like the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, the Northern Talent Cup and the Austrian Junior Cup through the learning process of Moto3 and Moto2. The factory-run structure is established with the close cooperation of key teams and partners such as Red Bull KTM Ajo and Red Bull KTM Tech3 with the goal of eventually elevating an athlete onto the MotoGP grid. Names like Brad Binder, Augusto Fernandez, Miguel Oliveira, Remy Gardner and more have all made full steps through the KTM GP Academy while Pedro Acosta has won two titles in just three seasons of Grand Prix competition.
